Enjoying a Burial Pale Ale while doing my first all grain brew day. Doing a BIAB Nut Brown. I’ve also got the ingredients for a pumpkin ale. I plan to do that maybe later this week. The best thing about small batch brewing is I can do it right here on the breakfast nook table. One of these days I might bump up to 2.5 gallons, but for now 1 gallon batches are doing me just fine.

I like that induction burner. I gotta watch my banjo burner every time the wind changes.

I’m a big fan. If I ever bump up to 2.5 gallon batches, it will still be able to handle it. Very convenient being 120v.

I have a high output induction and I couldn't get it to boil five gallons. 110 though. Maybe a 220v would do it. Electric brewing seems like it’d be ideal.

I currently also use a banjo burner that runs on LP.

Pure Project Brewing Nine Nights - Rum barrel aged stout with cinnamon, vanilla, and coconut... Pretty solid brew. Lots of cinnamon on the nose and a good bit of alcohol heat from the 13% abv!

    Some from yesterday.

Phantom ales 5.0 Hazy IPA. Always pretty good, but the 4 pack is more than monkish. Not worth that price but eh.

How much? Most I’ve seen for DIPAs is $20, and $24 for TIPAs.

Electric is the way to go. Love my little system. 220v eBIAB with pump. Got to strike in like 15 mins today for my 10gal batch (13.5 gal strike water), then about the same to get to boil. Holds a solid boil at 90% power after that.

Made a Helles today with my FIL, never tried one so should be interesting. Still gotta pitch the yeast in a minute.

Drank a few of my Belgian, English pale and a leftover golden ale I made awhile back. Need a dinner beer now, been sweating my ass off all day doing shit outside.

I think it was $22... But honestly it's better than most of the Offshoot beers I try and consistent.

Sometimes $2 extra can be worth it. I’ve bought a bunch of beer at this other spot in Pittsburgh that is average on their best day, and they charge just as much as everywhere else. Have had to tell a bunch of folks that just because it’s the same price point doesn’t mean shit.

Agreed, I guess since they're a small no name brewery with a Homebrew shop attached, I assume they'll be cheaper. Oh well. Still decent.

Not as good as when I had it on tap. Didn't get as much of the rich red grape notes, still very good tho. I usually don't buy them because they're pretty pricey.

Bottom line, I'm just a fucking cheap ass I guess. :D

Had this at the wife's cousin's house when we finally got up there earlier today. Delicious! All of my stuff is safe and sound in a cooler with ice. Can't wait to get home on Tuesday and start diving into all of the goodies.
