Oooh alright. Failing that approach I was just going to de-solder the LEDs and swap them.

I tried the circuit board swap, but the terminals don't like the tail housing. And the tail housings are keyed to the main switch housing which are unique to the vendor.
The actuator in the "good" combination is a little "loose" but does latch and unlatch just fine.

What switch do I need for the area below the hvac controls? The large or small switch from ch4x4.

    Thanks

In retrospect, this would end up being the best overall approach.
The good thing about a swap, (LED or actuator method), is that any "small" switch from AOB is a good donor since you only want the LED. So, you don't really have to wait for them to have the 2 LO switch. I just recommend choosing a donor switch with a logo that will most likely have a large customer base so you can turn it around quick to get back a little of the investment.

Do you have a copy of the glove box removal instructions you used. Every time I have tried to remove it, I get it loosened up and it moves around, but it stays hung up on something and I just end up working around it.
Is there another bolt down on the bottom or in the back somewhere that isn't on the service instructions?

I just wrapped up mine and took it for a spin. Worked as expected, like a fucking champ.

I really loaded it up in a corner in real 4Hi. It didn't like that. Engaged 2Hi and 2Lo are very nice.

Again, @lapoltba , thanks for taking this on. That is such a tight area in there that I surely would have screwed up the original mod. I did spend way too long finding places where there was no stress or chaffing situations.

And, thanks @BigWhiteTRD for working out this amazing mod!

One question, that I believe @BigWhiteTRD addressed in his thread. How hot does the resistor get? I played around until I got it away from other wires and was able to ziptie one ear to the large, meshed bundle.

There are five bolts and a bunch of clips. @BigWhiteTRD 's PDF has the details.

It really doesn't. I tested it by loading it up with 12V from a wall brick and in 30s it could still be picked up by hand. Those aluminum cased resistors dissipate heat pretty well. As long as you don't have it covered up with zero air flow it should be fine.

That was my guess but just wanted to check. I also wanted to keep the edges away from other wires and have it not rattling while offroad.

    Thanks!

There really is no slack on that 40 pin connector. It would be quite difficult to get in there and splice in the required wires and still keep it neat and tidy.

Yeah those look pretty much like what I was trying to do. I may have missed one of the bolts.
Also, I just notice the section about having to pry forcefully.
Sorry to ask a basic question here. But, pry the air bag forcefully AFT. Is that, AFT, toward the back of the glove box, (toward the firewall), or, AFT, to the back of the truck, ( toward the bed)?

Toward the back of the truck. Put your passenger seat back as far as it will go. Grab the air bag with two hands along the bottom and PULL! Since you are pulling on the bottom, you need to try and prevent the airbag from twisting up while you do it if possible. It may be easier to do it while sitting in the passenger seat. Those damn clips are in there good! I intend to see if I can figure out a way to access these clips from below to pop them loose when I update the install instructions.

Did you use double sided tape to mount the resistor?

This sounds like I may have run into a troublesome clip. I got a little gun-shy pulling that much, especially on the airbag.
