Don't they need to clear trail with Trail "supporters" first?

:notsure: dunno, that's just what I was told. I asked what the hold up was and she said snow and downed trees still, didn't ask anything further.

It was good, just really slow. (ATVs, vehicles that shouldn’t have been on trail) This trip was a special one, my friend spread his Dads ashes at the top, and we had a short service.

I was reminded on the asshattery that comes from people that just have no clue how to rock crawl or general off-road. I was almost hit by a JL Rubicon in French Creek. It was close. I jumped like a spider monkey, did a ballerina move and amazingly didn’t get wet/hit.

This same asshat was bitching the whole way up about how slow we were, along with another JK from Chicago that exploded his rear drive shaft.

Interesting enough, he got his ass stuck in French Creek on the way back down as well. For all I know, he is still there. I would post pics of his stupidity, but I would have to ban myself. We did however share the pictures with the forest Service at the bottom of the trail.

    Since you all like pics...

That's against the rules? I thought it was encouraged...

Reminds me of the FB Trails report group that posted about Poughkeepsie Gulch being fully closed and some asshat said something like "oh because your vehicle can't make it up the trail you call the cops.. pathetic"

Yet days before that he posted a video of jeeps tearing up the trail (that was already closed in that area after the gate locks had been cut)

The arrogance of people blows my mind and understanding it's not about making it through a trail or not, it's about preserving the land .

It usually turns into a shit show. The people that ticket and enforce laws have the information.

Sounds like the twatpocket who was behind us on Engineer Mtn a couple weeks back when we were on a similar memorial trip for my buddy. A dude in a 4runner bouncing on the horn and yelling at us to hurry up til we got to a safe space to let them pass.

When we passed them later on the trail I should have paid more attention to their info, I found out that they were heckling my friends teenage daughter and yelling at her. I didn't find out til dinner or I would have stopped to chat

I would have stopped on the trail and had a discussion. Total BS right there. The problem with that kind of wheeler is they’re the first to have a serious accident and cry for help due to speed and carelessness.

This is why I stick to the hardcore trails. I’ve never ran into this kind of behavior...ever. I have been on the 37”+ tire group since 2002.

    Adding to my trip:

We had two groups behind us that had rigs broken down at the top. One Jeep and one white Toyota truggy. As we were waiting on the trail to get some people up an obstacle, there was a Marmot doing his warning chirp. Well of course some of the guys open carrying said “I just want to shoot that thing.” I just shook my head.

Both the Jeep and Toyota were still disabled along with the JL asshat in French Creek when we left the top. Weather was rolling in too. Hope they had coats. :D

That is Nick’s Jeep, and you may know the history behind that YJ. He was a close friend as well.

Nick has came on a few runs with the crew and has been a real asset to wheel with. This winter his YJ will go under the knife and get some upgrades to run some 40” stickies and maybe a few extra ponies.

Damn, that's good to hear. I don't know them at all aside from having him do the oil cooler on my Powerstroke but he seemed like a really cool dude. Plus he got my truck back together in no time.

Last few times I saw the jeep outside of his shop I was thinking about stopping in to ask him about it but I know he's a busy dude and didn't want to impose

Identifying a bone-stock grey 5th gen 4runner won't be so easy unless he's honking again. the purple FJ cruiser that he was with would be much easier to identify though, I don't think I've ever seen another purple one.

No, I think it was stock aside from a set of 32-33s and a bunch of travel-type stickers on the rear windows
