    Hi all,
We are building a shed in the back yard. It's going to rain Saturday so want to get drip edges (seems like when I helped with roofs back in the day we called it flashing?) and tar paper down before that happens. Trying to wrap my head around all of the flashings/edges/synthetic underlayment etc. things. Here's a pic or two for reference:

It was 90+ in the bottom pic, way too hot for us Eugenians! Had a set of misters zip tied to the sun shade thing.

Anyway, I bought this kind of flashing at Lowe's tonight on my way home from the club:

Do I put that on all 4 sides? How do I cover the metal roofing with something like that? Looking at the plans it sort of appears like the flashing on the top part of the roof lays/lies(?) over the top of the metal roofing sheets:

That doesn't look super waterproof to me but I'm not a roofer.

I also picked up nails with big fat green washers on them from the roofing section. What I've seen on the tar paper is to use those if you're not going to roof right away. It was only $7 for the box so felt like it was worth it based on the amount of wind we've had here lately and the fact that I'm not sure we'll get the metal sheets installed this weekend.

The shed is 8x12 btw. 13' 1" wide with the extra overhang on the sides, just shy of 11' deep. 12' panels will cover.

    Thanks in advance

If you are going to do asphalt shingles I would put ice&water down instead of tar paper. That is small enough where it won't be too much more $$. I am not familiar with underlayment for tin. Think about venting, those little sheds get hot in the summer.

@OZ-T. Looking through what he does this should be remedial for him. He may be busy stacking wood for the winter though.

Your plan calls for low slope roofing , is that what you are going to roof with ?

    Whats the roof pitch ?
