I mean in the sense of spending the $$ to do the whole truck in 80, 170, and mlv. That shit adds up. The 80 isn’t needed in full coverage, just in the areas that are physically weak and vibrate due to no structor. I don’t think the 170 does much for sound, mostly a heat barrier. And the mlv is the most help for blocking sound. Also have to consider the thickness of all this stuff can make reinstalling panels harder. But I figure the $$ I save on the 80 will allow for more 170 and mlv.

I have Dynmoat Extreme in my Doors but the 80 mil Noico in the rear and under rear seat. I plan to do the rest but have got around to it. Mainly ripped out the cubbies and such and was rocking no rear seats for some trips and put it in to help. The doors made a huge difference.

That's why I'm saying if you want to save money on 80 mil just use Blueskin instead. One roll costs 20 bucks or so, covers 18 sq ft. And does the job just as good.

K060690RPM. 69" same size as my Fleetrunner one.

Ah crap I see now. Well I already bought 36 sqft of the noico, which should do the whole truck but if it doesn’t I will look into the blueskin stuff!

OVTune makes sense if you’re staying conservative. If you’re diving in HPtuners is the way to go. Keep in mind though HPtuners is only as good as the tunes that get shared with you.

Yep, Im not sure I could wait for OV to get me a tune. although so far when I was getting it setup it was not bad.

considering I am digging into much of the recommended and proven items on this thread there has to be some good or decent HPtunes I can get help with.

Do you guys recommend buying the HPTV12 from HPT or having someone setup a tune? Honestly have not dug into that one just yet but I know I will need it before I get too deep into the install.

I have the noico as well. be aware of how much you use in the doors. I used 5sq ft in the fronts and 4 in the rear. makes them heavy, but quiet. i did the whole back wall too. have just enough to do the rear floor. truck is much quieter now.

I think maybe you saw mine already, but in case you haven’t I did the entire floor, the back wall and the front doors with three different layers.

    Roadkill Expert
    Roadkill Overkill Foam Mat
    Roadkill CarpetPad (not on doors)

It made a difference in tire noise and road noise. Not sure about exhaust because I think I did it before I added louder exhaust. To minimize blower whine I think you’d have to do the firewall. I was thinking about doing the firewall if I ever have to replace the evaporator.

I plan to do the roof and rear doors eventually. Maybe this winter.

I will never do the firewall. 2 reasons. it's a bitch to do and blower whine is awesome.

Honestly if you want to subdue some blower noise (this goes for the dudes with solid poly coupler) I would say the quickest, most effective mod for noise suppression should be done at the hood. Just add some deadening around it, not even all over it and it should quiet down the rotor noise at idle. I may actually do this to the hood once I get some more sound deadener.

    Nice headunit BTW! Pioneer 8000NEX?

Finally made the leap from standard to Fleetrunner to the RPM series. My squeaking at idle is now gone while in drive or reverse. Finally! The only drawback is that since the belt offers virtually no give whatsoever the rotors have gotten notably louder at idle. Worth it though. Engagement in general feels much better now and boost feels, "tighter" for lack of better words.

Unfortunately I did. I hate doing it because I always want the cut portion dead straight but I think with a little time with the truck on and a piece of folded up 80 grit should get me nice and straight.
