    In chatting with HPT support what they can tell from the debug.bat "There are no signs of a faulty USB cable. It appears to us that the ECM has just timed out. Despite being relatively current model year cars, the ECMs in these Toyotas are very old technology and this is unfortunately a risk with these."

    Also.

    "...if you continue tuning, [make sure] to update to the latest beta [08/12/19]. We identified what went wrong with your write and have made a change to lower the risk and/or prevent it going forward."

    Needless to say, sounds like they are doing all they can to mitigate issues with flashing on our trucks, but the ecu just doesnt lend itself to be a safe flash in the first place. So for those HPTuning out there, 1. update to the latest beta, 2. have contingency plans in place!

    LOL as far as we know. I have a shorter 3ft USB C to 2.0 A cable coming thats going to be used EXCLUSIVELY for flashing.... only after i get my original ECU back from OVTune for contingency plan.

    Backup ecu should be showing up tomorrow and get put in the truck tomorrow evening, hopefully she will be up and running.... cus this mornings moto ride in the fog was wet n cold to work!

    Good to hear.

    What scooters do you have? My daily in college was a 2007 KTM 450 EXC. I'm working on getting my '19 450 XC-F plated now just for connecting trails but I'm thinking about a 690/701 Enduro.

    04 Honda 919 - my big street bike, stealthy canyon carver (stock, outside of ohlins suspension out back n F4i forks)

    14 Honda Grom - my Lil round town / camping fishing "dual sport" bike - (of which i have done a 164cc "big bore" kit, hand ported n polished big valve head / intake etc etc etc) - trail in my sig pic i have actually ridden my grom on!

    14 WR450F thats CA Plated and street legal - yes.... a CA plated 2014 WR450F.... those who live and dirtbike in CA know how much of a unicorn that is. Plated only really to connect trails and take camping. Getting this plated was the absolute BEST thing i have ever done for any of my motorcycling experiences.

    Haven't seen them but, based on your description, simply updated to the newest USB standard. Unless something's changed, newer/higher standards remain backward compatible with older ones, albeit at the older/slower speed for data transfer.

    Interesting. I wonder if the MPVI2 actually connects at 3.0/3.1 speeds @HPTuners ?

    For the amount of ECU's OVTune is tuning, I'd expect more failures on his end if the ECU is a problem (even those 2nd Gen's that are tuned). Are the 3rd Gen's using similar ECU's? It just sounds like there's more to it than our ECU's being the sole problem here.

    I'm not near mine at the moment but, based HPT's use of the basic USB logo on the MPVI2 page, I doubt it connects at 2.0 "Hi-speed", let alone 3.x "SuperSpeed".

    I'd imagine it's the standard 2.0 speeds. But a 3.0/3.1 cable plugged into a 3.0/3.1 Port would offer one more ground shielding line. I'll check when I get home as to what speed it connects at

    So apparently turning 30 is some sort of a big deal. Dad told me he wouldn’t send me cash since I’d probably use most of it on bills or something else responsible (not wrong) and that it needed to be used for something fun and for me. So it looks like I am finally joining the club. He just sent me the email confirmation and it should be here Friday.

    @JustDSM i sent you a pm about a tune
