Fast flashing is normally an indication of a burnt out bulb as you already understand.

In this case however, because those tail lights use LEDs (which draw much less power and cause hyper flash), they also have an internally built in resistor to prevent hyper flashing. The resistors get very hot so I would guess that there was some sort of failure in the resistor itself.

    ^yup.

If the taillights are new, you might try and go through the warranty process. If not, you can add an in line resistor for a couple bucks yourself to the right side taillight blinker wire.
Spyder is sort of know for random QC issues like that. Some of their lights are good for years while others are DOA out of the box. Kind of a gamble every time.

Any Idea on which one I can order to remedy this?

Can someone confirm that the resistors are only needed on the brake/turn line and not the tail? Each side has two bulbs for brake and two for tail so I would I assume I only need one resistor on each side but....

I the resistor is only needed on the LED bulb wires. If they are front and rear you’ll need both. They mimick the filament in an incandescent bulb, so where you’ve swapped them, you need one.

Brake bulbs don’t need them, only the signal bulbs.
