Seperate wiring harness vs vehicle harness

My 2008 Tacoma’s wiring harness got fried from the fuse box back from an improperly wired trailer hitch. Are all my wires connected with the trailer wore harness or does the vehicle have a seperate harness for its wiring that isn’t trailer of towing related?

 

Kinda hard to know without seeing .

As the rear light harness could be bundled with other harnesses leading back to the ECM

Maybe someone with a 2nd Generation knows for sure

 

the 7 pin harness is separate from the tail lights and assuming you have the towing package. I believe the license plate illumination lights are shared in that harness only. There is a connector under the spare tire area on the drivers side, you should be able to replace the trailer wiring only by purchasing this

I read that the harness was melted from the fuse block back !!

Never being up close and in person I have no idea of what collateral damage may have been done to other wiring touching the melted wires

 

Oh man, I misread that post then holy crap. Good luck then to sourcing a whole truck harness!
