Hey guys, new to the forum and upgrading my truck but I saw a post on a before and after pic of a mod that I would love to do to my 2019 Tacoma but don’t know how to go about it.

    Any advice would be great!

I believe someone here makes and sells caps that snap on over the chrome

I also know they come off fairly easily and could be painted over

It's super simple to swap. As mentioned above, watch youtube.

    Basic steps...
    Remove clips around bottom.
Pull bumper top cover upwards so the cap will clear when pulled outward. Make sure to reach underneath and squeeze as many clips as you can see to prevent breakage.
Now ready to pull off chrome cap...
There is a metal clip on the back of the chrome cap. When you pull the cap outward, the metal clip will fall to the floor. It's a bit of a bugger to reinstall... Dangle it from a piece of tape with one hand, and reach behind the bumper with the other hand to slide it back on. (Make sure you cover the exposed adhesive on the dangling tape).
If you watch a youtube video it will all make sense...
I bought black caps ($20/ea) due to one of my colored ones getting damaged and I'd say it took about 10 minutes to swap them out after watching YouTube.

Check out this thread. Post #5 has a detailed picture of bumper parts and post #22 has detailed written instructions.
