Yea, I am sure you can pop that camera out, pull the wiring and place it in a different location. I mean, anything is possible but then I think you'd be left with a hole there. I would look at possibly buying a second camera and then add as much wire as you need to connect where the existing connection is. I bet all these cameras are likely the same 2 wire setup.

A camera like this, wire and a connector might set you back $25 bucks total.

I have an aftermarket swingout tailgate. There is no hole. That is what I am trying to figure out, where to mount or re-locate the stock camera.

I understand. What I meant was, if you remove the OEM camera from the tailgate you are gonna have a hole there. I would rather add a second camera and wire/connector that I could mount anywhere I wanted, with a quick disconnect. You could mount that to the swingout if you wanted to. Or with extra wire, the rear of a trailer, boat, or whatever.

Hey. That's what I did with mine. I made a bracket from a piece of 1/8" thick aluminum. Drilled it, Bent it and installed on 3M tape. I extended the wires as well.

Here is another idea from same thread

Mine too but I sure am glad I have a double cab. The cap will allow for dry camping when the tent is not. One of these days.

My current commute is 100 miles round trip to the city.

    It's not any better.

Id hardly call it a win lol.

If you ever head to Pittsburgh, you gotta keep an eye out for the tunnel monsters. They like to slow traffic down to like 20mph on the parkways here.

The only thing I dislike about my FRS is the entry and exit of the vehicle...
I vote yes. Also happy to assist with install, I've done quite a few. ;)
