Apologies if this one has been covered: Is there an easy way to install / Plug in the USB cable to the truck that's behind the dash so the only portion exposed is where it comes up through DMM?

 

I actually intend on doing this with my setup. My plan is to install one of

So you'll be spicing into the existing 12v lighter wiring to tie the quick charger in but you'll be leaving the whole thing hidden / behind the dash? I like that. Is there a way to tap into the stereo USP as well for connectivity? I feel like I read somewhere that USB doesn't charge. Sad if that's true. Thanks!

 

That’s my plan. I thought about making it accessible somewhere but there’s already 3 usb chargers in my vehicle so I don’t really need it. think having this one hidden For a planned wireless charger mounted to the DMM will be clean. Not sure on the stereo usb.

I can't be 100% sure but most of these types of chargers use a little bit smaller ball on the back, there's an adapter available which is basically one 1" ball on one side and a 17mm ball on the other which I believe is what this charger uses.
