A few of us just ordered this one
    http://www.amazon.com/Cobra-75WXST-...1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1283880531&sr=8-1

Everything is in the mic itself, no external box. Great reviews, one guy reviewed it still works great after 6 years. All CB's are limited to 4 watts max output so it's hard to find any unit that's better or anything lol. FCC limits that.

Me, too. I need to tune mine and don't have the SWF meter or whatever it is. I have a magnetic antenna and it talks about cutting some length off of it to tune it but I want to do it right. I think all of the CB guys should be there at 9 or a little earlier to get all of the radios dialed in.

Maybe, if it's open enough...I'll bring it with and we can try. But try and get there 30 or so minutes early to allow for tuning time.

Jake, just an FYI, there is a very small box about 3"x1.5"x2" that powers the hand unit and where the cox from the antenna plugs into. But it's so small and easy to hid you won't have to worry about it.

Yea I'd be a little concerned with just showing up. The time we get there should be roughly 11-11:30 I'd think, plus I'm not sure if everyone will want to stop there or not. The original plan was to drive through, bring whatever food you may want on the way, then once we arrive in Prescott everyone is free to do what they wish. If people wanted to meet up and go to certain restaurants or what have you, or head straight home, ect.

I'm not opposed to the idea but someone would need to contact the bar ahead of time to let them know first... presuming they even remotely have the seating and parking capacity there. (never been there myself so I can't say).

Yea I saw that, figured I'd just put it behind the dash somewhere. I might pop the radio out and feed the cable that way. :D

They could probably seat about 40 people because they have a big outside covered deck with picnic benches. Seats about 20 inside. But, they usually have only 1-2 waitresses and a couple cooks, that's it. We'd bury them. Plus, there's only parking for about 10 cars/trucks unless we line up on the road but there are other businesses and homes in the way.

Just thought it would be funny to show up and own the place.

I've never done a tune on that kind of antenna so I'm not sure how that will work plus things are going to be busy that morning already. I'm ok with trying to tune one or two in the parking lot before hand, but I'm not sure I can handle one's I've not done before. I'm more than willing to meet with you before the meet if you would like to come to the house and we can tune it up and make sure it's all grounded right and everything.

I think it would be cool to try and take over, some people may need to realize they won't be eating right away. I know the business would appreciate the money...

Dude I didn't know you could use your stove as a welder... Epic!

Seriously though not a bad idea, though I have no idea how many people are actually going. Roughly 50 trucks and anywhere from 1-4 people per truck.... there's near a max potential of almost 200 people (though I doubt it would be anywhere near that).

I think it'd probably be best if everyone was responsible for their own meals... however if we have a few grills to share around if people want that'd be great too.

I text him and he's not 100% sure if he's going to have to go on this trip. I'll text him again tonight and see what's going on.

I like this one, I might be ordering this soon.

That looks like a good CB.

Is there anything special I need to tune it?
