Ever since I became a Toyota follower and started learning about their robust and awesome vehicles I realized that 1. Im not a speed guy, Im an off-road kinda guy and 2. If I ever wanted a sports car it would be a Supra.

    Then I saw this:
    https://youtu.be/4oC8cvUb0kI

A BMW engine in a Toyota...it aint a Japanese car no more. Its made in Austira, and is based off of the BMW Z4. It has the same engine, but with 45 less HP. What the actual fuck Toyota? A lot of people think BMWs are nice cars, but I personally dont like em. The electronics in my sisters BMW went out. She had to have her entire ECU replaced (was fully covered so +1 BMW), but even after being replaced she still cant use BT. Ive also had bad experiences with VW, family members have had bad experiences with Audis, I just dont trust them Germans anymore. Is anyone else as disappointed as I am?

And it has BMW shitty electronics

Agree 1000%. My Italian made Ducati is more reliable than my 10 year newer BMW motorcycle by a long shot. Oil leaks, electronics, rust, poor build quality, warped rotors, etc.

I just hope this car is a flop so they learn not to partner with a company that makes the complete opposite of them... utterly terrible cars with zero reliability.

Disagree. I LOVE the new Supra. I would definitely buy one if I could afford it.

Let's hope the BMW/Other Manufacturer collaboration doesn't spread to other Toyota models.

I, for one, am looking forward to to a Ford - Toyota partnership on the Tacoma/Ranger.

They could put a nice Ecoboost in it, and maybe put the 3rd gen auto transmission...

I agree, you have the MK IV with 2jz and to follow that up, the MK V has a BMW powertrain... Every complaint I've seen about the new supra has been due to some shared part thats BMWs junk.

I'd personally rather buy a Toyota 86 and do a 2jz swap.. and save my self money in the end..

Toyota's guys won't want one because it's a BMW. And BMW guys won't want one because it's a Toyota. I don't really get why they made it and think it'll be a sales flop.

The b58 that BMW lets Toyota use for the supra is an AMAZING engine that Toyota de tuned. With the proper bolt ons or just even a tune this supra could put up crazy numbers. It was a no brainer for Toyota to use BMW's inline 6 as its been produced for so long and its well known to hold great power without blowing up. It would have cost Toyota ALOT of money to redesign their own inline 6 again and then people would have been crying over the price of the supra and that its taking so long for it to be released. The new supra is an amazing car, I do find it disappointing that it only comes in auto (even though the 8 speed auto is nice) but for the price its a great car. The only car I can compare to it at its price point would be the M2 comp which I would pick over this. Regardless I'm sure they knew they weren't going to please everyone and the car is going to sell really well :)

Of course not. Just wait til we get Toyota and Jeep together on the new FJ-Wrangler collaboration. Jeep's tried and true fit, finish and reliability, Toyotas offroad prowess.
