My brother had knee pain, resulted in needing surgery. He did a decent amount of jogging/running and hiking. Doctor told him absolutly never again no jogging/running. He was devastated but now he just walks. Walk or swim. Walking is highly underrated in my opinion. I bet if everyone walked 30-60 min a day their would be less heath problems. I don't mean a crawl, a brisk walk. Just my 2 cents :)

Are you referring to the fish oil?

If so, I'm not like wringing the fish out and drinking the oil lol I do krill oil in the morning then a fish oil/omega 3 mega dose at night

About 1.5 years ago, I decided to lose weight and get fit as part of a new year's resolution. I was really dedicated to the idea and decided on a mix of body weight exercises and a stationary bike for cardio.
The bike was a good option, however, I spent an hour on this thing every single evening after work. I never took any days off, and basically went gung-ho on a daily basis. I really pushed myself by increasing the resistance and pedaling as fast as I could for as long as I could.

After about six weeks of this routine, I began to notice these pin-prick sensations behind each of my kneecaps that felt like hot needles. Every day that went by the sensation got a little stronger... then the pain came. It built in an intensity and scale that was difficult to believe. I immediately stopped using the bike but the damage was done. After one more week my knees were so fragile and inflamed that I could barely climb in or out of the shower, and even driving was precarious and painful (had to push down on my leg with my left hand to work the clutch). Stairs weren't even an option.
I then began taking supplements such as turmeric, glucosamine + chondroitin, etc., as well as plenty of rest, elevation and ice. Then came a routine of careful stretches and foam rollers.

Long story short, it took at least five months before my knees healed to the point where I could comfortably handle stairs. Today I would say they are 90% of where they need to be.
I still don't trust them to use the exercise bike again, or even to run on pavement. It was a very, very long period of time for them to get back to normal. The lesson learned is that you need to allow the body time to rest and heal, as well as mix things up and try different forms of exercise. Make it as natural as possible.

On the plus side, I lost over 50 lbs of body fat and have kept it off since then.

    Working on it now....UNDER CONSTRUCTION
I had problems with joints since I was young. None of the meds worked for me. What I do now is take Multi-Vitamins, B-12, Apple Cider Vinegar, Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade, Local Honey, DHEA, and weight training. Now I have minimal problems with joints. I have been doing this for about 4 years. I am 52 and in the best shape I have been in my whole life. I currently take no prescription medications. All the water we drink and cook with is distilled. I have a distiller that pretty much runs all the time. Good luck!

Cortisone shot- Best $35 I've spent..

Blew my knee out yrs ago & in the last couple of weeks it had bothered more than ever.
Had to get some relief as I could barely walk.

    knees wear out

knee replacement surgery is essentially the most prevalent elective surgery

save for the fact i used to run
    ride
    jump
    holler
    scream
race full tilt all the time

    simply have worn them out

Are you running mostly along the beach? The beach slope puts more force on the landward knee which can tend to cause injury. Not running along steeper beaches was the fix for me and may be worth trying.
