If you were near VA I’d do it just to have a roof rack to transport my rods at the end of sept.!

I’d check some junk yards for them.

20190902_131335.jpg 20190902_222312.jpg Definitely tested out the racks this weekend. Held up great. 1 12', 1 10' and 1 6' kayak a little over an hour and half and up a rugged dirt rd to a mountain top lake. Well worth the $. Put some 2'x6' wood cross beams on with some 1/2-13 bolts to give me some extra room. Kayaks did not move. Impressed with the powder coat as well. Seams durable.

Finally got around to installing it. Royal pain in the ass, mostly cause I was by myself. Looks good, solid.

Oh, derp. Yea added some rubber door trip from Autozone. Also put a strip of 3M protective film down on the roof to help prevent paint wear and tear. Not sure how the front spoiler will handle freeway speeds yet though. I see a lot of comments where people use the top mounting holes on back and then lower mounting holes on front of rack so that the spoiler rests super flush with roof. I couldn't get the front down enough for that so its mounted on top holes with the front bracket. However most of the center of the spoiler is making contact with roof. We'll see if I get any vibrations at freeway speeds.

I put a layer of 3M Paint Protective Film down where the weatherstripping makes contact with roof. Hoping it prevents rub through.

Try to adjust the 4 bolts on the spoiler to angle it down to the roof
Only issue I had was that the spolier vibrated the crap and flex the windshield enought where I had to take it off. Being I was the first at the time to install. But now after touching the roof line it don't vibrate any.
Thinking of try taping up the holes on the spoiler and see what wind noise I hear

That's what I did, shoved the spoiler down as low as possible and tightened all the bolts. It is making contact, just not a ton. Maybe I'll have the girlfriend crawl up there and push down haha. Yea the wind noise was way more than I was expecting, even at 45 mph. Way louder than my fullsize work van with ladder racks and ladders. However just did a quick jaunt around the block yesterday and it was SUPER windy outside so that probably didn't help.

Taken a couple trips down the freeway, no vibrations, wind noise isn't bad at all. At this point super stoked with the rack!

Just built it. Getting ready to cut the side rails down to 3” all the way across and then drill new holes for the brackets. Gonna cut off the front blade looking thing. I’m gonna Silicone the crap out of it when I install it on the shell162A9F4E-0EE1-4DF3-8F55-06B8A3C68F65.jpg
