I picking up a new TRD pro skid plate with a gift card in the morning from the local dealer. I have a $300 credit, so about $40 out of pocket. I think it's coming with the red TRD inserts. I'm on the fence about having the red letters. How would it look on my truck. I have already cleaned up my truck, removed the lower black air dam and the old skid plate. Thoughts anyone, suggestions. So far my mods are 5100s, TRD SEMA wheels and Toyo open country at2, OEM pro grill, pro exhaust, TRD CAI, heated leather Clazzios, remote start, predator step bars, RAV4 mirrors, remote start, avs bug shield ,ventIMG_20190101_121203445_HDR.jpg visors and tint

personally I like the red letters, it gives it a subtle *pop*. The skid plate isn't too visible so the red lettering isn't blatantly obvious. The red inserts pop into place so if you plan to remove them there will be holes where they clip in place.

I have SSM and the pro skid plate with the 4runner pro wheels as well... It looks fine. Matches the red accents on the wheels. But you could easily pop them off and paint them if you wanted.

I don't think I have a pic, but I could get one for f you wanted to glance into your trucks future lol.

I have the TRD Pro Skid on my 2019 TRD Offroad DCSB. I think it looks best with the red inserts pulled off personally.Your opinion may differ, of course.

After looking at the letter inserts after I pulled mine off, it almost looks like you could reattach them if you wanted to. They use a combination of a foam adhesive & flexible clips to snap into holes in the skid. I'll take a picture of mine with the letters removed to show you what I mean.

I’m in the minority, but I painted my TRd pro skid plate dark grey on my SSM Taco. I thought it looked dumb all bright and nearly white in colour.

I removed my air dam last week and really like the look and my initial plan was to install a TRD Skid plate but have since changed my mind.
I do prefer the red letters even though you really don't see them much unless crouched down looking under the truck.

Do you still have red bedside stickers or did you change out to the Pro style Sport door badges?

If so leave the letters red.

I picked it up this morning, the sales department hooked my up. So they dropped the price more when I picked it up and I used up a $300 parts credit. A young technician was talking about the Pro trucks and he was just making small talk. So I gave him $30 and he put it on in about 15 minutes. I love the new look.IMG_20190914_090218468_HDR.jpg

The original stickers are still on. Still thinking about just the overlays on the chrome emblems.

This is a tough choice. I made TRD stickers for my factory plate and was torn between red and black. Good luck with your decision.

I’ve pretty much the same. Think it looks great, provides better protection over stock, and makes DIY oil changes easier.
