What is a good code scanner that will tell everything and more please.

You may want to delete your original post and repost "Best OBD scan tool?" No one scan tool does it all including the $2500 diagnostic tool. Look into the Autel autolink AL539

What are your goals for the scan tool! I.e. what are you trying to use it for?

 

there is no "one" tool out there. There are too many variables in scan tool abilities. Before I plug in my Snap On I plug in my Bluedriver. It is Bluetooth and fits in your pocket. It is "good enough" to use as a go/no go device. If the code read requires a better tool, i.e bi-directional capability, I switch to my Snap On.

 

Keep it simple and get a scangauge II or ultraguage

Foxwell NT201, works great for me diagnosing codes. Can't speak to other capabilities cuz that's all I really need to know, what's the check engine light code

I need one that can kinda point me in the right direction. I replaced to many parts . The mass airflow sensor. O2 sensor upstream and down stream.

Scangauge II is what I have been using.
What I like is that this gauge can attach to a readily visible point on your dash console with any backlit color you want to program.
I just updated their most current software 4.5, which gives you more "X-Gauge Commands"; a format allowing you to program protocols to read anything that the vehicle computer puts out. Thats where your limit is on what these will tell you.
I got a second one for my other car on Ebay unused for $35 but had to pay $25 to update the software. New ones start at $135.

 

Does it have real time

 

You mean scanguageII. And if you mean temps, pressures, etc. how could it not?

Looking into that scanner now. You think Autel is a good one two . I am just making sure cause like anyone best bang for the $

 

A $20 obdII plug in and the Torque app for your phone ($5)

Can read codes and data...fuel trims, timing, sensors, temps, etc.

P0172 means you're running too rich, did you by chance install new fuel injectors recently?
Or maybe bad spark plugs

 

Yes all new injectors I broke one and replaced all 6

 

And the P0172 came on shortly after? If so, then I would put money on the fact that it's because one or more of those injectors is out of spec or faulty. Did you get OEM ones or aftermarket?
