Would you shoot them in a closed room without ear protection?

    For fun? No
To save a life? Absolutely, I can dump a 30 round mag outside and have very minimal ringing.
I would expect the 556 to sound similar to a subsonic 22 LR fired out of a rifle at an indoor range, the 6.8 has a slightly deeper tone that isn’t as difficult on the ears.

Bought some material and started building some target stands, bases will be filled with self leveling concrete and sand, metal clamps will hold on paper or cardboard targets.
After having steel only targets at the range for a little over a year I decided it’s time to get some paper target stands built.

I use these below. Just use either long or short 2x4s depending if it’s prone or standing shots. Then I have 1/4 plywood between each bracket. Paper targets are stapled to the plywood. You can get lots of use out of each 1/2 sheet of plywood and they break down pretty easy still.

I run a suppressed sig rattler in 300blk w/ 220 gr subs for HD and it is pretty quiet indoors without ear pro. I’ve run 110gr Barnes tac tx supers through it and it isn’t insanely louder. The question for me is: Is a 110gr projectile traveling at 2350fps more or less effective than a 220gr projectile traveling at 1000fps? I need some ballistic gel blocks with some pork ribs incased in them to test penetration depth... :fenforcer::anonymous:DD24D6C5-4578-493C-8A33-05DEFC07652C.jpg

    No worries!

Mostly it’s for my long term stuff for me, then the rest go in a range bag but still love how all the MTM stuff stacks.

I may have to use that idea for rifle target stands, I’m going to use 2x2 for the uprights that hold the target, easy to move around the range for shooting around barricades or similar and easy to replace the 2x2 uprights.

I'll use it for the ammo I spend when I'm out shooting in the woods. I'm not a fan of ranges myself, I like the fresh air and openness of shooting in the hills. That, and the echo sounds awesome.

Yeah I thought about that too. Think both would be pretty equal to the task. I used to run two of those green steel fence posts and some c-clamps with the plywood. Got to be a pain in the ass though.

That’s what’s great about it, so many different ways to enjoy the sport. I’m more of a range fan, just not ones with a lot of people.

I have a PSA 10 in i need to sbr and while im at it i figure i should sbs my Auto 5. Ive always wanted a whip it shotgun. I bought the 10 in with the intention of doing a colt commando style build. Maybe that will be my wedding gun gift......
It is isnt it?!?! My fiance has been cool with the piles of surplus i have laying around, the $50 i spent on packs that are now sitting in the livingroom, the plate carrier and helmet staged in the kitchen.....i def have a keeper.
Lol eventually ill get this stuff organized and put away.

Picked up a new 20G Auto for waterfowl.

    Beretta A400 Light Synthetic - 26" barrel.

Tried to order through my local Beretta dealer, but was informed they had none in inventory as the 26" version in black was being discontinued. After some work, I found one online.
