This is awesome! I guess that i wasnt clear on what i was asking. I was asking if i needed to have the TRD tune in order for the supercharger to run correctly or if i could go with only HP tuner. Regardless i will see about shipping you my ECU here in a few weeks.

    I gotcha!

You will want to have the TRD (or BullyDog) tune installed into the ECU prior to shipping the ECU to me. HPTuners will "extract" a virgin copy of the TRD tune from any BD tuned ECU during the virtual read process should you have that tuner.

Keep me posted as you near the date you wish to send the ECU over. I'll go over the finer details with you and make sure you we get the right flash installed. In the meantime, feel free to PM me or post up if you have any questions. The folks here or I will get you sorted.

Awesome. yeah i believe that the only thing i am looking for is to delete/remove the SAI after the TRD tune is done. I dont want for my truck with 112k miles on it to go into limp mode wehn that pump goes out is all. I am sticking with stock pulley and standard tune. I am not building a race truck just want some power to push this thing around and be more reliable without the SAI

I have know 4 people with the ecoboost engine. 1 had the engine spontaneously combust into flames pulling out of his driveway. 1 had the engine replaced under warranty for knocking. 1 had minor issues with the engine but the truck was always in the shop for transmission issues. The other hated it and traded in the truck due to the eco function not working correctly and it stalling at lights when only some of the cylinders are supposed to shut off.

All trucks purchased new, all issues happened within 30,000 miles.

Morning gents. Was cruising through a few TW threads this morning and stumbled upon this filter that @Armed in Utah used. Based on the dimensions on Amazon, it appears to be even bigger than the 51516XP listed in the OP in here. Seems like a good option for even more oil, it dwarfs the stock toyota filter

    Based on Amazon's advertised dimensions:
    51515XP: 6.67 x 4.47 x 3.73= 111.21 cubic inches
    51516XP: 5.6 x 4.1 x 4.1= 94.14 cubic inches

I have had this filter sent to me in the past and have knowledge of it. It is gimongous but it will not work with our setup. I compared the two as I was exchanging the 15XP for the 16XP.

Edit: I got my numbers backwards. Lol.

Too wide to go on or what's the problem?

Yeah it's too wide, the diameter of the gasket easily would extend over the base of our filter housing and if I remember correctly the actual threaded hole was wider by about 1/4 to 1/2 an inch over ours. I have reason to believe that filter was meant for HD Diesel trucks or a very HD V8 or V10 gas engine of the Ford or GM variety.

That is the equivalent to the old (standard) Fram PH-8A filter.

    I remember those filters.

    http://www.fram.com/parts-search/PH8A

Very first result in the application it fits in is a 7.0 V8 followed up by a myriad of Diesel engines. :D

It also fits older Mopar, Chevy and Ford gas engines. The 5.0L in my Ranger uses it, too.

A 5.0 in a Ranger? Do you mean the 4.0?

    No.

I replaced the 4.0L with a fuel-injected 5.0L. Aluminum heads, reworked crank, longer rods (same stroke length), ~9.2:1 compression, hydraulic roller cam (RV), headers, dual exhaust (Flowmaster), etc.
AOD transmission with wide ratio gears.

All adds up to 300 HP and 384 torque. :D

Actually, I need to sell it.

I haven't been driving it much. It was a great project, but time to move on...
