E6F20907-62D2-444D-BCCE-B1B3EE9C95EF.jpg .260 Remington based off of a savage action. Boyd’s At-one laminate, bedded with pro bed and fully floated barrel. Installed a Rifle Basix trigger set at 1lb 8oz. It’ll outshoot me all day long. Going to add a brake so I can spot my own shots more effectively. 5 shot groups at 100yds, I get excited after a good three and then my group falls apart (not enough practice)BDE0575C-7ACD-4EF9-849F-B6DDA0C39A2E.jpg 793FB75A-DD18-4AB0-90FC-D424A9D02505.jpg

I taught my wife how to do select slug drills with the shotgun and also got her sorted out with a subgun she hasn’t really expressed an interest in the science of LR

Women who know how to shoot is hot.

I like it! Looks like you should have plenty of adjustment, if not you could swap the butt stock like you said. You could also add something like below if you need more height. Just double tape it to adapt it or something. An extra tab if that foam at the front of your cheek could also help with front to back placement.

ARE Z-series shell, ImMrYo mirror lift, always on fog-lights.
You have a threaded barrel, I would look into getting a quality brake to mitigate a large portion of the recoil to start off with. I have a Area 419 on my rifle and its a night and day difference even on a softer shooting round like a 6.5 CM. After you toss the brake on try to stay away from everyone else on the range, they will appreciate it.

@broke_down from what I've seen, the earlier FAB Defense cheek piece is fairly flimsy (like in your first pic). If that is what you have, it might be worth while to change to something more proven like the Magpul PRS in the future. MDT also makes some that are solid and will fit that chassis.

Nice rifle. Did you put in pillars? Any pics of your bedding work? (I did my first one in a boyds for a grendal bolt gun build and it came out functioning well, just wasn't that pretty.)

And one thing I learned... Try and do your five rounds without taking your head off the rifle or adjusting your head position. I was shooting awesome three round groups and then I'd jump over to admire them through my spotter.. and the group would open up on the next 2. Once I tried shooting without moving my head/body out of position, I cut down on the "WTF was that" impacts.

I did not pillar, figured laminate is pretty darn solid and wouldn’t compress much. I might regret it later, we will see. Thanks for the tips, that seems to be what happens with me as well. The savage action is a pain in the ass to cycle one handed and not tip it over, it has loosened up quite a bit with polishing. Bedding pictures attached. Good thing about pro bed is that you can get it in either brown or black.02B3BDAC-F40A-4628-B124-2967622F9E71.jpgB21EAB83-34A4-4F28-A135-7FF3649382DD.jpg

Yep, just bought one today. I do hate the current stock, the weird pointed butt doesnt sit very well in a rest and I have trouble supporting it with a bag or with a fist. Bought a magpul prs gen 3 stock. Probably going to go shoot a bit in the morning.

    Speaking of impacts...

Why do people at PRS matches say “impact” when you hit the target? Or is that just a here thing?

I am a roaming RO at regional PRS matches (we shoot the match and move with the squad). The club where I do it used to have us say "hit," but this year PRS has it in their rules that the spotter must yell "impact," so we were all instructed to say "impact." Shannon mentioned it at our first PRS Pro Series match of this year saying he wanted it to be uniform across all matches...and impact was the word we had to use. However, lately I have heard some people yelling "hit" instead.

The argument that "hit" sounds too much like "miss" doesn't hold water. Nobody calls misses - you only call hits. And "hit" is way easier to yell all day long than "im.....paaaaact."

Nice work mate. I don't think you'll have any issues. Looks like plenty of material in a stable stock to hold it well. then again, even if you did want to do it later, it's still possible. I've heard you can just cut the pillars short and then skim bed the top of the pillars to mate up with the other epoxy height.

I figured it was some lame ass rule like that. I kept slipping and saying “hit” old habits and all. I’m not serious enough to fall in line, and my squad’s scorers didn’t have much issue translating my calls.

I’ve removed my judgmental Percocet induced rant, don’t need to start nothing. But, I’m keeping my meme since it is so applicable to some of the dudes at that shoot.

I know that guy. He told me almost joined the Army once, but turns out he has asthma. Otherwise he was almost an Army Marine Delta Sniper Frogman.

Just got this email from midway.

Chatted with their customer service, they’ll be getting a charge back from my bank. And that’s the last time I’ll ever order from them.

Yup. I’d do the same. Their system calculated it incorrectly, that’s on them, not you.

Seems kinda dramatic, don't you think? Midway is a good company, and its not like they are gouging 100s of dollars, they are charging what they should have and offered a full refund if you are disagree. This is probably over something around $20 I'm guessing? I bet if you called them and used an unusually pleasant tone, you could guilt them into giving you a 10%-off-your-next-purchase type coupon. In which case you would obviously rack a huge bill and "win", as we call it in "merica".

I recently had something similar happen. I bought my Savage rifle in July, and by the end of the month some shitty ammo from hornady blew a primer out and sent so much of the exploding gunpowder into my action that it fused the bolt-head. Hornady of course denied any issues with the ammo, so they have absolutely lost me as a customer for life. But Savage paid for the shipping on my rifle too and from, and did the repair for free. They did loose my $25 plano case in the process, but I did get about $500 in gun-smiting work and shipping for free, so I cant complain too much. In spite of loose my case, I don't think they are a bad or dishonest company. I do think they have an incompetent person working for them who happens to handle shipping my case. I will continue to buy from Savage, they did the right thing even though I am out of cheap case. So anyway, I bet Midway people are good people, and I bet their customer service would try to do something to make you a happy customer.

    ^^ this ^^

They started that a couple seasons ago, it was weird at first but you get used to it.

When spotting at friendly don’t mean nothing matches I’ve been known to yell what ever feels right
    “Bingo!”
    “Bango!”
    “No Love!”
    “Opa!”
