Friend on mine has a 2012 Tacoma.
4x4 wont engage. Transfer case actuator was bad. It would engage but would have to be taken off and shift fork manually disengaged. Then he would bolt the actuator back on.
The actuator has since been replaced with a brand new genuine tacoma part.
All that happens now is the lights blink on the dash. Nothing will engage. The front differential actuator use to work.
    Nothing is working now.
Any help, suggestions, or threads would be helpful. I haven't found much on TW.

    Thanks for any info.

Tell your friend to lift all 4 wheels off the ground. Put it in 4 hi, and see if the front drive shaft turns. If yes, try this.

Unplug the 4 hi position sensor at the transfer case...marked with an *

Jump the connections with a paper clip or wire to make the computer think that it is switched.

    See if he has 4wd.

If yes, replace it with this:

Easy, $14 fix on my truck. You can get the part from NAPA or almost anywhere.
