Trying to have a 5100 kit installed with emu 887 could and rear 5100 with add a leaf. No one will touch it. Want me to buy their kit and pay 3x more.

Quoted 1600. 300 labor. Headstrong kit is 700. Seams a bit steep.

Am I wrong or does headstrong kit say 5100 all around, set at 0 with coils, add a leaf, approx 700.

He tells me not possible. Anyone have this set up with issues? From what I've seen shoukd be good. Or is the guy trying to get money?

Have a couple local shops to talk to, but they are busy.

How busy are the local shops? Do you need it done NOW or are you just being impatient?

Iowa is not known for its offroading community and Tacomas aren't as common there as other regions; you will have a tougher time finding shops to do this work because of that.

Can you purchase the parts and have them install them? Or show the items in your cart online and have them pricematch, or at least come close? What are the parts they are offering or recommending?

Of course the guy is trying to get money. That's the point of running a business. If the price of his business ends up being unreasonable for you, vote with your money and walk away.

Don't need it done now. Want a bit more clearance for winter and a nicer ride. Have a few leads....would like to find a tech familiar with tacomas

If you are willing to drive an hour over to Dubuque, Complete Offroad has done plenty of work on tacomas.

I went down to STL and had @Cav_BluTRD help with mine (I’m just east of waterloo). The guys at the saint louis mod day have done a bunch of suspension swaps.

Otherwise I’d look for a shop in Des Moines.

Sioux City sucks. Definitely like the worse place in the state

I saw this last night. Passed out before commenting.

OP- if you want to come to St Louis we can knock it out for a nominal charge. (Aka pay for lift time)

Going to check this out. About 90 miles from me. Going to talk to a few local guys who do work first. I know one who is reasonable and will allow me to order parts. He is hard to get a hold of, very busy. Not sure if he does suspensions.

No ones had any issues with 5100 kit? Basically a local shot is telling me 5100 not designed for it?

No problems here. I would guess the 5100s are the most common shocks for tacomas.
Talk with Marie at Headstrong. She knows suspensions

Only thing I have heard is the 886 springs werent recommended with the higher spring rate. 887's are fine.
