I looked at the Weathertech website today to see if they make mats for our first gen. Nope. So, does anyone have a suggestion for something similar?

Interesting. It says that for my 2003, too. Yet, I have them. Let me see if I can find an old email and check what I bought.

Edit: I looked. My wife bought them. It was 5 years ago. Maybe they just don't make them anymore.

Weird. They make the DigitalFit front and rear liners for my 03 DC still.

+1 on the husky liners. Had em for a little over 10 months now and they look brand new. Granted they do not get abused but it is my work truck so i’m constantly getting in and out of the truck and they show 0 wear. Easy to clean. They are a little pricey but worth it.

Best thing I ever did was get rid of the floor mats and the carpet .

Since I forever walk in all kinds of slop my carpet was soaked all year to it froze and thawed all winter .

Works in my case it does not smell near as bad either

I bought WeatherTech mats for my 2003 Prerunner 2 years ago and they had them in stock. Not only in stock but they had both colour choices available. Black or Grey. Its a relatively new WeatherTech distribution warehouse up here north of the border in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. One thing I find with these mats is that they become permanently stained. I have scrubbed the shit out of them and I have never been able to get them to look like new. Oh well, at least my carpet is protected.

I bought the Weather Tech AVM 4 piece floor mat set for around $50 from Pep Boys. I found the Weather Tech floor mats to be of high quality, doesn't slide around the floor (driver's side has a floor hook), catches dirt/mud/liquid, protects the original carpet, the tan color matches the interior, and is easy to clean.

I had to trim away a little bit of the driver's side floor mat to make it fit properly and yes, when it's stained, the floor mats have to be cleaned, scrubbed with a cleaner, rinsed out, then dried off. My driver's side floor mat has developed a hole in it from my left foot heel going into the floor mat. Is there a way to repair the hole? Both brands of floor mats are of good quality.

No, WeatherTech makes their digital fit floormats for 1st Gens. However, they don't advertise it for all years of the generation. I talked to WeatherTech at a trade show and they had to order them for my 1998 as a "2003 S-Runner".

The digital fit will work for all 95-04, it's just that 00< do not have the "hook" in the floor carpeting. maybe the S-runner doesn't either :notsure:

either way I'm sure they will work for MT but them saying NO keeps them out of liability if the clutch pedal gets stuck for some weird reason.

I pulled carpet from a 1999 PreRunner with the grommet in the carpet already. for my 1998 I had to use a self-drilling hook.
