I am swapping my steel wheels for alloys and ordered some new oem toyota TPMS sensors. Will the TPMS button pick up the new sensors or do I need to use a reprogrammer? I tried setting up techstream over weekend and ran in to issue which I think are related to my cable. I might try a new cable but was wondering if I even need to go through all this.

No. The reset button will only relearn new positions for the sensors that are already stored in memory. You need to program new sensors. TechStream is the correct approach.

Besure to have the ID numbers of both sets written down.

I assume you ordered new TPMS sensors for the new alloy wheels, which will not be the same shape as those on your current steelies

Could you comment as to which of the million techstream cables you bought? With a 2019 I was wondering if I needed newer techstream and/or maybe the 2.0.4 firmware cable rather then the 1.4.1 cable I bough the first time around. I could read some basic values just not the the tpms and few other modules.

I am not sure what the 1.4.1 or 2.0.4 cables are? I am using a cracked version of TS, the one linked in my signature below. With TS, I have used both a regular Tactrix cable (borrowed) and the one that came with my OVT kit. It was said that the OVT one is a slightly different version. Regardless, they both work.

I also have an old Bluetooth ELM327 adapter. I have used that with Carista, which allows you to program TPM sensors also.

I have never used the BT adapter with TS, but I believe that you can. I can try that later today if you want me to. Generally, for settings like TPM sensors and customizations, any adapter with a stable connection should work just fine. If you are flashing the ECUs, then you should be using the Tactrix or better.

I think I have a ELM327 somehwhere. That plus carista will be my backup if I cant get techstream working with the new cable I have coming today.

Something is really off with my truck. Carista with ELM327 gave me the opition to make some custimaztions so know it is generally working but TMPS ids was not something that it gave me a choice to change. I have a 2019, wonder if something changed in that year. Only non-stock thing on my truck is the radio but the new radio pick up the tire pressures just fine so it is safe to assume the oem radio is not ECU for tpms

I am sorry to hear that. I would send a message to the developers. They have been very responsive in the past. You can also get free beta access while they work it out.

Hey, I just swapped my 2019 SR factory wheels and tires for a set of new 2019 TRD Off Roads with TPMS included. Now my tpms light blinks for a minute and then stays on solid. Do I need to have the sensors reprogrammed ?
