yeah I agree. You can pick one up for that price that’s a 4x4 and pretty nice. But if you just have to have that step side, you have to have it.

This, I trusted the data on a suggested value based on NADA and kbb or whatever and searched a little while (couple months) so I could see the local trends and stuff. I did find a seller that was reasonable and didn't want to sit on the taco and didn't believe his taco was worth big time bookoo bucks.
I would think the best way to get these for what their actually worth and not pay double or triple what everyone else would be take to some patience and smarts and delayed gratification. But damn what these sell for in Cali is unbelievable

That's unbelievable man, if they wouldn't take 10k for that they must've way overpaid for it at auction or trade in. Or they really think they'll get 12k out of someone. How long has it been for sale with them? After it sits a few months at that price, I'll bet they come down

Thank you all for the responses... I saw those two on craigslist for quite some time. I must have the buckets seats, even more so than the 4x4 or manual tranny. I am okay with the "lack of power" of a 4cyl auto 2wd, since it will be used to run errands, city driving and eventually a 25 mile freeway commute.. the 4x4 and manual is more of a "wish" and nice things to have and not so much a necessity.

I've been looking for the past 5-6 months (can confidently everyday all around the state) and haven't been able to find one. I found the perfect match about three weeks ago at a Toyota dealership in Virginia, but they told me the truck wasn't going to be sold to retail because the frame was so rusted that they will be selling at auction..starting to get frustrated, but don't want to make an expensive mistake..

I hear ya, I guess I let the price dictate more of my wants or 'needs' and sounded like you were looking similar. The value in that taco in the second link is ridiculous good for Cali. I hope someone here jumps on it.
Bucket seats... :facepalm:I take my smart shopper comment back.... :rofl:totally messing around man. It's good that you know what you can't budge on with the options and stuff. Overpay or wait. Pretty easy choice for me but I'm not in your shoes :D

One thing that may help in the searching, you really can safely look at the higher miles tacos too. I mean you have to do your due diligence with the inspection before buying and stuff, but I wouldn't be scared to spend time checking out or test driving up to 200k miles or more even. But has to be priced accordingly, of course.

hahaha thank you brother, I have looked at doing the bucket seat swap for a truck I was previously interested in but there were not junk yards within a 200 mile radius with gray bucket seats, and the ones with the tan colored seats/console wanted $800 for them lol.. Anyways, I'm leaning towards waiting..

I hear you, that is what came to mind when I saw the one with 388k miles and the overhaul. I also look for history, length of ownership, and even just chopping it up with the seller so I get to know what type of person he is..
