wow, very nice lineup there I like all of it, the added bonus is the value and cost of turtle wax products is usually significantly lower than most other products of the same caliber. and these can be applied in direct sunlight and high heat which means you wont have to wait for an overcast cool day if you don't have a garage or carport, im digging it. im sure it will get pooed pooed by the (supposedly) pro detail mob as cheap Walmart garbage for the under class.

Plenty of the YouTube detailers as shown in the video have given their recent products a lot of praise for the reasons you've mentioned. Would expect the same for the newer ones.

Apex Detail covers a lot of their products in his recent videos. I don't keep up with them all as he uploads something every day. He does reviews on a lot of the other OTC brands as well.

when that new turtle wax stuff comes online im definetly going to try some, I also like these newer products seems to make keeping your car protected and looking good easier than the old stand bys like claying, polishing, sealing rinse and repeat it gets to be a lot of work, whereas these newer stuff wash then wax/seal as you dry the vehicle is really convenient, and with all that being able to apply to a hot car in direct sunlight is a major plus.

I have a question about the best strategy to deal with the oncoming New England winter.

I bought a new 2019 Tacoma double cab in early September and want to keep in top shape, but I'm wondering what the best strategy is for winter. I live on the MA/NH border and winters can be cold and long, so washing the truck at home is not an option for four months or so (unless I'm lucky with a thaw, but then you get all kinds of mud and salt slung onto the vehicle.)

I understand that commercial car washes are required to recycle a lot of their water, so it sounds to me like going to a commercial car wash in the winter involves high-pressure salt water being sprayed onto the truck, and that seems like a real bad idea. Is that true and what do people recommend?

Also, what wax or equivalent is best to use? Will one of the new ceramic coatings last from November through March? Any other recommendations?

    Thanks in advance.

I have heard the same about car washes. I use a pay and spray during the winter just to get the salt off our vehicles. I probably only have to deal with road salt about a half dozen times here. At the minimum use a good sealant. It is better if you can go with a ceramic coating. I would suggest Optimum Gloss Coat or Carpro Cquartz UK, both are easy to apply and remove. Watch some videos before applying. It should nearly be a wipe on/ wipe off type application. Both are fairly straight forward and I have used both with success. Depending upon how you maintain your vehicle, you should get over a year out of each coating easily.

I would suggest that (if you haven't had it done already) you either spray undercoat/rust proof your truck yourself, or take it someplace and have it done. I recommend Fluid Film, Crown, or one of the other lanolin based products, but there are plenty of good options. Just don't use that black paint undercoat like we all used to use years ago. You have the opportunity to get it done before it has seen a winter, take it. There are plenty of threads on TW and dozens on YouTube on what to use, and how to do it. Best of luck with your truck.

Always hear Collinite 476 is supposed to be a great winter wax for those harsh salt solutions for something on the inexpensive side. As Tacorific said, if you're up north look into something for the undercarriage.

That is a solid sealant too I've just always heard 476 was the winter wax and has more durability for the harsh winter slurry.

Now down south where you don't have to worry about the salt slurry go with the 845. Probably has the better loom of the two. Not sure as I've never used them.

Any recommendations for a sealant or wax for Quicksand? I'm used to dark metallic paints but have Meguiar's #16 and some Blackfire Sealant at my disposal..

Those will work fine. I would lay down sealant then top with wax. Usually if you see a product that is made for particular color its because it has fillers in it to hide imperfections.

A professional always told me the Blackfire helped make darker colors pop and I agreed after using it.

    Thanks I'll take a look

I Have a new 2019 Taco with paint protection film what's the best wax for it? I was thinking of one of those wax sprays like Chemical Guys insta wax carnauba wax and sealant what do you think?

Does it cover the whole truck or just the front end? Any wax/sealant will be fine. Just tape off the edges of the film or you will get wax build up.

Tap the edges or they will end up looking nasty. Make sure you don’t use painters tape with edge lock or anything like that. It will leave residue on paint.
