i am in the mid west on the IA/NE border and have only been as far east as Detroit in my old Tacoma, but I have plans someday to make it to the end of U.S. Route 6 which is right down the street from me

anyways, i have big decisions to make on the weatherproofing under my truck i have had for a very long time
not many in the 1st gen general thread understand the winter monster situation from my state all the way to the east coast, it seems the majority with 1st gens on TW are in those warm weather states and do not have the single clue about anything that is cold weather related, unless they have experienced the nasty winters first hand in the past and just moved to get away from the cold.

there are not many 1st gens in my area in the mid west, at least not on TW, i am just on an island here on the old river talking to myself lol

    good luck with salt proofing.
i used to spray gear oil, thinned with kerosene from a garden sprayer onto the underside. but it pretty much just delayed the inevitable.
now im onto 3rd gen and wool wax.
unfortunately im kind of an expert on rust.
