It's a great community from around the world that do a lot of the same things this site has to offer without all the "assholes" from this site who hop all over people for asking questions that they think is "stupid"! They have way more class!

Imagine this site without the 250 assholes!

I cant believe I listened to all that.

The meme pages are funny, but the argument here is pretty lame.

The guy found a way to make a living doing what we all love to do. Good for him. Its a business, it makes money but don't be upset you didn't think of it first. Yes it brings new people into the hobby, but its introducing them to it in a semi-controlled enviroment if they choose to utilize the resources his site provides. But, isn't bringing new people into the sport the goal? When a new member signs up here and wants to take their stock truck wheeling we don't discourage them, we invite them out and get them hooked, thats kind of the point.

This guy monitized that concept, gave it a title, marketed it and people ate it up. He may not have invented "overlanding" but he certainly help make the word a "thing".... but no matter how you feel about the word we're all here for the same thing. I have a badge on my truck. I paid the money for the membership but to me its nothing more than a cool sticker. Do I use their site or the features he's provided? No, but thats because I already have my program figured out and I think I have a decent idea of what I'm doing out there and where I'm going. But for someone new to the hobby looking for advice on where to go or what gear to buy his tools can be a valuable resource. We all started somewhere, why cant it be there? At the end of the day were all just glorified car campers with a lot of expensive shit bolted to our trucks.

Just my 2 cents on it.

Totally agree- whether you're a member or not, just enjoy what you do. They've provided amazing resources/trips/connections for me, but I also realize it's not for everybody and that's fine too. And after all, the basic principle of entrepreneurship is to create value for other people- and for me he's certainly done that. Props to him!

I only just joined at Expo east. It seems to be a good community with helpful information. I have been looking for fellow TW members. It is way slower pace than TW is. @geekhouse23

I have been thinking about joining. New to off-roading, looking for good basic intro help and help findng better info on local trails. I have found many online trail reviews to be lacking. For $30 for a 1-year member ship it seems like a reasonable deal.

Anyone think it was not worth it after they joined?
