    It’s more like I want 6 legitimate PSI out of this truck. If my 7 PSI that is rare is actually 4.3, when I’m 70 years old looking back, I’d be mad at myself you know.

    So the dyno data I got said 11.577 psi for atmospheric pressure. It’s based on the altitude here. So if I get 7 above that, I’m at 18.577 PSI total. It should be off of sea level which is 14.70. So 18.577-14.70 is 3.877 actual boost I’m getting. I need the 2.2 at least to get to 5.877. Based on this, I still wouldn’t need fuel mods. That explains how John ran a 2.2 without fuel mods.

    also TRD advertised 6 PSI at sea level. How can I have 7 PSI at 5000 feet? Anyway....

    What is Boost? is pressure that the supercharger forces into the engine. In normal engines, the air is pulled into the cylinder by vacuum created on the downward stroke of the piston. The air that is pulled into the cylinder is at atmospheric pressure. Boost is the compaction of the air that exceeds the atmospheric pressure. So, if your supercharger provides 6 pounds of boost, you're getting 6 extra pounds (per square inch) of air pressure in your combustion chamber. The more "compact" the mixture is, the more forceful it is when it detonates.
    Basically atmospheric pressure reduces with altitude by about 1” Hg per 1000 Ft.: Altitude will affect both pressure and volume. A reduction in both the performance levels of pressure and volume by 4% for every 1,000 feet of elevation. As most superchargers produce somewhere in the range of 6 to 9 additional pounds of pressure over the atmospheric pressure at that elevation (at sea level atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi)- (14.7+6=20.7 psi as you said) but there is a bit more to it than that. The higher in altitude you are, the less the ambient air pressure will be. Henceforth, running at a higher altitude will reduce the performance of any engine in general, forced induction or not. However, you are still producing boost; you are just starting with a lower ambient air pressure.

    So 20.7 at sea level vs say 18 here. Both are producing 6 PSI above ambient pressure. But the engine can take more up here because like you said, it’s starting with a lower pressure. I don’t see any extra wear on the engine from sea level. I would see more wear on the belt, pulley and supercharger. It’s spinning faster to produce “the same boost” at sea level. What’s else is working harder to match sea level numbers?

    Your boost gauge starts at atmospheric pressure were ever you are. 6 lbs of boost is 6 lbs of boost. It's the air density that makes the difference from sea level to 5000ft altitude.

    I did the same thing and the bearing went out soon after so I switched back to the stock one

    So after installing the new OEM MAF and new fuel pump my methanol needs have completely changed.
    I was spraying at 4 pounds of boost up and using a #6 nozzle with the 2" pulley.
    Now its needing a much smaller nozzle #2 and spraying point is now at 6-7 pounds of boost up.

    I got an OEM MAF instead of the aftermarket to know I have the correct info being read.

    Huge difference in results from these two items being replaced for fuel requirements
