508BA5D5-D2AA-442C-B313-C365CBB0238C.jpg Hunting Season 2019-2020 is upon us. Figured we could start a thread to post pictures of deer, duck, turkey and whatever else you have the opportunity to harvest this year.

Good luck and happy hunting. Be safe out there and share your pictures.

Man, I wish I had a place to hunt still. I grew up hunting & have done it all my life. I raised my daughter hunting & she asks me often where/when we could go hunting again. She's a teenager now & really misses it. She was fortunate growing up getting to hunt on a 21K acre ranch in the hill country so she got a bit spoiled on having an awesome place that offered everything. I really need to find another place but it's tough paying $2K+ a year & it not have big bucks on it.
Good luck to all y'all this year & keep the pics coming! :infantry:

Caught someone trespassing and killing deer in our hunting club on Sunday. Dude killed a 6 pointer that was maybe 2 years old. What a waste but at least we got him charged.

I took the Little Zombie Killer out last weekend, and he got a nice sow.
The guide said to put it right in the ear.... well... he did just that.

My deer season just ended two weekends ago. I got this guy, got him off the hill and skinned by myself. My buddies who showed up later that day were surprised to say the least. I carried one out the next day for one of those guys though. Small when compared to mullies and white tail but it was a good coastal blacktail!

    Congrats to your kiddo!

I’ve killed tons of pigs. We usually leave them where they drop. They’re vermin, like rats, and reproduce like rabbits. Fun to kill but a PITA to deal with.

We got ours off to an early start ha ha. On Oct 19th my oldest daughter went out with the plan to get this axis buck that had been coming around a bit. She left the house on the gator for the short trip down to the blind, and spotted him along the way. She shot him there, never even stepping foot into the blind. Since we have low fences, we figured if we didn't take him before the season opened, someone else might. With there being no season on axis, there was no reason to wait. By bedtime that night, he was processed here at home. Cut steaks, and ground meat all shrink packed and in the freezer. I've heard there are 2 other younger axis bucks running around too, but I think I've only seen one of the others. I've also been told that there is a very nice mature 10 pt WT that's pretty impressive to see. Since my wife and daughters like to hunt, and we only take 3 a year for our freezer, I almost never get out to hunt. I just get t do the dirty work these days ha ha.

    This years axis

An 8 pt my oldest took a couple of years ago. I know she won some stuff with it too, but forget what exactly.

We have enough deer here that we don't have to worry about getting something, it just boils down to which one you want to take that year. Sometimes, we also just clean out does and spikes.

All very impressive. With girls you would think that you get more hunting in than others.. I have all boys, and it appears I get to see the inside of the blind more than you do.

If you get any hunting in at all, you get more than me.. lol. But, it's by choice for me, of course. I've had plenty of it, so I don't mind sitting out do the girls can get it done. I'm like an old Lion, I just send out the lionesses these days, while I lay around looking ruggedly handsome.

I *may* go out this year and take a 4th one to double our sausage stock this year, but we'll see. Out of the 3 we take each year, steaks come out of all 3, and the rest of 2 are ground to hamburger meat, and the rest of the 3rd is ground and mixed with equal parts pork for sausage. Of the sausage, we make a certain amount of dry, and the rest fresh. It seems to be going a little quicker now that the girls are older. When they were little it would last right up until deer season. So, we may see about a 4th.. not sure. My oldest will be married this coming june, so we'll be down to 3 in the house and that might slow down the sausage demand.

I was just up in your neck of the woods this summer. My buddy moved up to his place (he's had it for years) right outside Plummer ID. My wife and I spent 3 weeks overlanding our way up there and spent a couple of nights camped in his driveway. Pretty country up there. He's been loving it being up there full time, but I'll have to check back in with him after this winter ha ha. He retired from the fire dept, and now is a full time knife maker.
