Looking for torque specs for this bolt :)

What is the factory torque spec for the front cab mount? No info on the web. Also what is the thread/pitch of the bolt?

Not sure on the torque spec.

Edit: most likely torque until the bushing starts to bulge, like a rear shock.

 

How come ya want a torque spec? Just getter tight. I think a 1/2 grad 5 is around 60 ftlb

 

This is Toyota. The bolt will be metric if it is stock. This chart may help. It is most likely an M14 8.8 bolt.

It's a rubber bushing; I don't think going by bolt grade is the right approach.

2nd gen had a TSB for 34 ft-lbs on cab mounts.
It's a locknut; non-reuseable.

 

Tighten one til it breaks and don't tighten the others as much.

 

Is this a good torque wrench? First time I get one of those. My motto is UBERTIGHT...not the best way and many parts replaced in general.

One with a lifetime warranty is helpful too.

I have a harbor freight one. Works well. Tekton usually makes good stuff.

Looks like he replaced the radiator support / front body mount bushings with the Energy Suspensions kit.

No. The lift was done over 2 years ago and happy with it. I used ICON 700lb coilovers extended travel and CAMBURG UCA for the front and ICON RXT leaf pack with ICON 2" shock in the back. No problems with any of them BUT the leaf packs started to squeak (my fault) and here is a head-up note:
- Icon RXT leaf pack. Very good product and performance but it has a flaw...in between the leaf springs is a small brass(???) plate of 2.25"X 5"X1/16" that separate the leaves. Those plates are cut uneven with holes that are punched out not drilled and will swing out when leaves installed (I installed all of the leaves). I tried to play with them and make the best I could but in the end decided to donate the plates to the garbage man. I ended up installing the RXT pack without any separations between the leaves and now they squeak...Just ordered 12 Brass plates cut to size and will drill the center hole in them. (more below)


- Energy Suspension (ES) bushings. After reading the post(s) on the forum, I followed the instructions and replaced the OEM bushings that looked like all the other one replaced by members. The OEM bushings are soft rubber and deformed from normal use (DD truck on paved streets and low/moderate speeds). I ordered the same ES bushings like in the thread, opened the box, checked the bushings and installed them. After 8 days of use, they SQUEAK like crazy!!! (and hence the question of torque # for the OEM bushings). ES says to torque the bolt to "factory specs" (?). After reading a week about the ES installation, torque, maintenance, in all the videos seen ES mentions to GREASE the bushings before installation with the silicone grease provided in the package. What grease??? Where is the grease? I called ES and asked about the "supplied grease" and they says I have to buy the grease separately...Last Saturday I spent 5 hours under the truck replacing the bushings (and other stuff), now I have to take the front apart again to grease the bushings...This time I want to torque the bolt to "factory specs" and not tighten till the bushings bulge out.
If you consider replacing the front bushings, also order the ES grease and do it once, not twice like me.

I will use the same grease on the RXT leaf pack in between the springs and on the plastic pads at the end.
Now I need the "factory specs" for that bolt and a good torque wrench.

 

Just spray the crap out of them with some white lithium grease. That being said I don’t think I’ve seen anyone grease the poly front cab mounts. Not to say it shouldn’t be done but I’m not sure that is your problem. I’d look more towards center sleeve alignment and torque. I’ve had the poly bushings in for about 1k miles now with no squeaks. I just tightened until they bulged a little.

Get the Speedway Ford Model-T leaf liners P/N 91033038-BLK to eliminate squeaking. You'll need two rolls, one roll per leaf pack.

That sucks man, hopefully you can figure it out. If you are taking it all apart to do the grease definitely make sure you get that center sleeve aligned in the body hole. Mine didn’t want to line up right without a little persuasion.
