All my backpacker friends swear by Crocs. Minimal weight gain worth the comfort after a long day of hiking in boots

Thanks, friend. I can't wait for the first tours to fire up in the Spring - still have to finish up the behind the scenes boring paperwork

Also, I'm pretty sure a picture of you and I made it on the website somewhere lol. Nothing like a good "Knoxville" picture with evergreens and a 14er in the background lol

Indeed. Crocs are fantastic campsite shoes for relaxing after a long hike/ride.

I much prefer a set of Tevas (not boat anchors like Chacos) or my Sanuk "hobo shoes". Weigh almost equal to a set of crocs, and you aren't wearing crocs.

Also, if any of you are looking for Chaco alternatives for post ride activities, Bedrock and Combat flip flops have some good sandal (not floppy) options.

I prefer Tevas from experience. That diamond tread stuff Chaco uses murders my feet.

Maybe lay off the pedicures. That diamond tread has never affected my man feet :notsure:

Or try Crocs. They're supple for all feets :D

I tend to wear good socks and hiking boots a lot of the time, so I def have some soft feet.

Yep. Been a while and I still have my teva tan! Mainly cuz back in July I fried the tops of my feet and it turned into perma-tan.

Obviously I’m just busting your balls. Chacos do tend to have an upper that takes some acclimating.

I upgraded to choco’s. Crocs and flip flops are super light. It’s worth the not cool penalty. ;)

I mean have you looked into a mtb specific shoe like 5.10 or Giro, etc? It does make a difference.

My nearest-term bikepacking could really be called, well ... biking. Though i will have packs. I’m looking at Harpers Ferry to Pitt on the C&O and would be staying at little town inns and hotels along the route. In that situation, a charged rig shouldn’t be an issue. And i don’t sweat a few extra pounds anyway, i keep the fitness around ALGF most of the year.

    Love that beargrease though!

I ride Vans and find them almost too grippy. Shoes never slip off the Race Face Atlas pedals. I only wish they were at least mid-tops

I’ve missed this thread. Hey guys!

So bad news... my father and fellow Tacoma owner passed away a few weeks ago. It has been pretty rough.

In light of this, I have decided to move forward with selling my squishy bike because I honestly need the money right now.

    5CE9DE62-8D21-4957-A2F5-24F16FCEA4FA.jpg

2016 transition scout frame size large. It’s a poppy bottle rocket with 125mm rear travel.
DVO diamond forks 150mm travel with 50 miles on them.
    Diety 800mm bars
    Raceface atlas stem 35mm
Wheels are dt Swiss 350 to race face offset arc30 rims with tapered spokes and alloy nipples
    XT 1x11 drive train
SDG 150mm dropper post with wtb seat.
    SRAM XO cranks
TRP quadiem brakes front and rear
    Race face 32t chain ring
Maxxis DHF and DHR2 Tires in 2.5” tubeless
    Race face pedals

This bike is amazing and conquers everything. I’m thinking $3500 is a fair starting price unless you all disagree, hard to gauge tje price. Also willing to part out if that’s something people are interested in
