    I thought so as well. I bought my sliders on sale. The Black Friday sales are just around the corner, not sure what All Pro has lined up, but worth watching.

    I bought my sliders as an insurance policy, not because I am a dedicated rock crawler with intended regular use. I'm not out to destroy my 3yr old truck. I’ve wheeled for nearly 15 years and never had true sliders.

    This past weekend on a multi-day 4-wheel outing, which we had last run 3 years ago, the trail was substantially worse off than expected from our previous runs. The sliders allowed me to press on when I otherwise may have been reluctant to. We got caught in a flash thunderstorm that turned the very tight technical uphill trail into a stream. The truck took a good blow to the driver side after slipping off a tree due to things being slick from the flash downpour. The DOM sliders deflected the blow that would have otherwise directly hit the cab, with zero damage. On a loose boulder steep climb, where I watched a higher lifted, larger tire, vehicle struggle, the sliders deflected rocks as I was a little more aggressive than I would have been without them. And where fallen trees had blocked the trail causing improvised bypass which tested breakover angles suited for a SWB Wrangler, the Tacomas breakover angle didn't cut it. Dragging the frame into the ground/rocks in the improvised breakover test, I had confidence knowing that the Apex sliders wrapped around the lower frame channel, protecting it from the impact.

    The DOM steel on my sliders is gouged from protecting the truck. I certainly would not want softer HREW. While all this may seem somewhat extreme, I do not consider myself an extreme off roader. Worse than planned trail conditions presented themselves many miles into the mountains, and rather than turning back I pressed on with the insurance of slider protection, and that is exactly what I bought them for. The sliders have effectively paid for themselves.

    I have to opportunity to pick up a set of these for 250 bucks for my access cab long bed. However they don't come with any hardware. I emailed all pro today (sunday) so I am waiting for a reply. Does this weight add any sag to suspension? I have 2 inches of lift and I can't afford to have much more sag or my 33's will rub again (struggles). I also have never had to drill into my truck before. Is it really that hard? I worked at Boeing building airplanes for 2 years so I'm not scared to drill into stuff, but I have limited experience with steel. Also, a lack of a motorcycle stand will make it interesting. Is the install pretty straight forward? any instructions anywhere?

    I was going to say if you were a Boeing guy you must be super local. I’d gladly give you a hand over some beers, in my heated garage.

    Weight was a surprisingly negligible effect on height or performance. I am running 650lb coils in the front and progressive AAL rear. The added weight is very well distributed between all 4 corners. Drilling isn’t hard, just time consuming and a bit tiring. The frame is thick, though I do have some new bad ass drills that should make quicker work of it than my old one. I also still have the motorcycle lift to make install a breeze.

    Install is relatively straight forward, several mounts bolt through existing holes in the frame horizontally. Bolt it up into rough place, press into place with the jack, mark the vertical drill holes, then drill away.

    Oh snap! I'll let you know when i get it. I'm picking them up this Friday, but I'll have to wait for backing plates and a hardware kit, as well as I have to wire wheel and spray bedliner them. Shouldnt take me more than a weekend to do the prep and paint, not sure about hardware. I'm in Bothell.

    Have you considered powder coating? I got mine sandblasted and powder coated in Monroe, then I got a can of highly toxic color matched powder coat touch up spray. Way thicker and heavier than paint, so after the trails I can just tag the impacted areas with new color matched spray for a far more durable coating than paint. Got the shop recommendation and idea from some of the other local TW members.

    I used Thermo Tech Powder Coatings in Monroe.

    Raw steel develops surface rust almost instantly in our humid climate so you’d have to prime them to keep from rusting over.

    I don’t recall the exact pricing, they can give you a quote over the phone. I want to say is was in the low-mid $100s, but cannot day for certain.

    Compared to my bed bars which I primed and bed coated, the sliders are far more durable, look better, and touch up better with the provided touch up spray.

    I'll have to give them a call. Thanks! A few other things I spray bedlinered myself and they look good imo. Plus it's easy to spray over. But I do agree that powder coating looks better

    Just throwing it out there as something to consider. You’re welcome to check out mine in person first if you like before deciding. I think having the can of powder coat touch up spray negates the easy touch up argument, as if anything it makes the powder coat easier to touch up as the spray is far thicker and better at sealing than paint. Of course paint is cheaper and easier.

    I love the look of these sliders. I considered BAMF but I like the look how the outer tube on these seamlessly rolls out. how have they held up? what's the degree of angle they are mounted at? around 10% I'm thinking of having them powdercoat them and ship.

    When drilling into the bottom of the frame use a bootle jack under the drill,no big effort then. Doesn't help the OP now but a tip for someone in the future.
