$250 isn’t a bad price if they are making the plates, doing it to look factory along with trimming the wheel wells correctly, painting it and trimming the front bumper. It takes almost 4hrs to do a really clean job

I already have plates, and I've trimmed a lot of plastics already in advance so if I cut it myself I could just have them weld my BAMF plates in. We'll see once I decide on a shop and take a look at their plates and if they have pictures of their work. Hopefully I can get it done cheaper if I can cut it myself.

I know it's been discussed, but can't seem to find an answer....what pinch weld is being addressed?

The one on the firewall above the cab mount, it sticks out a little and can cut your tires when at full stuff.

It’s funny to me that guys who have $30-50k trucks try to save $100 when cutting the frame up. Spend a few more bucks to have it look factory and never look back!

Gotcha. So people are just grinding that down some?

No, the usual method is just to bend it to the side with a sledge hammer and then coat it with a rubberized undercoating just in case it's not waterproof anymore.

I'm near Redding, but I'll travel a little to get it done right the first time.

I was going to offer, but I can’t do it at my apartment :/ and that’s a bit of a drive. I’ve only done my cmc, and I didn’t care about matching the factory paint so I used whatever I had laying around and sprayed some of that rubber sealant that members were recommending. I’m sure if I just primed/painted it would look factory. 13CED5FC-851A-4757-8FBA-44BB6AC7D3F6.jpg

Ok cool....I just looked at mine and it must rub once in a while. I've ignored mods on the taco a lot over the past year or two after putting effort into my other project so I feel like I'm starting from scratch again.
Let me put it this way; Is there anything wrong with grinding it down? Seems like that may look a little cleaner than just bending it with a hammer. Or would cutting it be problematic?

I wouldn't grind it down myself just because it would seem to weaken the weld vs just folding it over, in addition to defeating the waterproof part of it. I'm just going to pull out my fender liner, bend it over, and put it back in. Won't see it at all unless I end up having to trim the liner.

Modded the airbox, carb, exhaust, and put some better tires on it. Also, my mower has a full electric locker in it. Winning!!!
