Wow nice job. This is how I hoped mine would turn out, but lacking the time, it did not haha.

    Again, good job on yours.

    I use Malone Gunwales for our canoe - I've got to keep the back mount lifted because of the rocker on our Prospector;

I'm in the market now as well, I'm mostly interested in overall height, I don't know if it's been covered so excuse me. But, have we covered already the height off the roof between these two options? I know prinsu is been known for the low profile, but the pictures make them look very similar.

Thanks for the rack! Really like it on the truck. Not having noticeable wind noise, but might try to adjust for mileage. I put this on right after the canopy was installed, so not sure what’s affecting the mileage more, but happy with it either way. 9B5274D5-DFF6-4205-B48E-A07A2EAA5D2A.jpg51FAC2B9-AF9D-4A31-AD19-42AE44CE55A2.jpg

OK. My Yakima Jaylows arrived today.

The clamp is well suited for the extruded cross bars found on most aftermarket racks for the tacoma. The jaws open wide. They clamp on the sides (front and back of cross bars when mounted on a truck).

The only issue I had was the rubber lining the jaws made the fit too tight. you can see that here.

    IMG_1930.jpg

The solution was to remove the rubber liner and end up with this.

    IMG_1927.jpg

The uprights are easy to put on. Just two "wingnuts" to tighten each. I'm going to order another set so I can carry two kayaks. Jaylows can carry a second kayak on the backside but the hull would rest directly on the rack. I'm picking up some Eddylines so I don't want to mess them up.

The Jaylows also have a angled "ramp" to guide you when you're heaving the kayak up. This ramp portion clears the side lip of the Victory rack so it can overhang if you need it too. That might help with loading. Sorry no pic of this.

Just got my victory rack installed on my access cab. Looks rad. Need to fill the light bar cut out soon. Can anyone point be to a cheap light bar that fits it without needing to trim or mod anything? Im tempted to buy the one from victory but id rather spend $100 and wait to put a kc or rigid.

Also curious how and what you guys have mounted up there. I want to find a good net like strap that i can just throw some cases, boxes or luggage up there and strap it all down. Any leads would be great. Ill throw up some more photos in better lighting later.

i also had an issue this morning where i hit a couple bumpy areas and i got this loud rattling vibrating sound. I think it was the back faring hitting the roof of the truck. Ill look into seeing if i can raise it some but i think its almost as high as it can go. Anyone have this issue or put any weather stripping on the back faring?

Good luck! anythging 40" is expensive. 42" seems to have more affordable options. If you find one that affordable please share.

I have a Prinsu caprack. It mounts to the cap with 4 feet.

Has anyone added extra feet? Im looking to add a Roofnest RTT, and am concerned about spreading out the load.
Cap seems flat enough that the feet could be the same length, but I havent actually measured..

thats weird i wonder why 40 is more expensive than 42. Also some have mentioned that they could be the same size but taking measurements differently

41" inch seems to fit without ha ring to alter the fairing in any way. 42" you have to have the bar far back or cut the fairing

I do believe there is a slight arch to the cap which isn't crazy apparent but if you put another bracket/mount there you'll notice it for sure.

Thats my main concern. Its a Leer Legend/100R.

Maybe Ill take one off one side and see how it lines up. Thinking I would move the back one to the furthest back bar, and then put one in the middle.

Side note: has anyone seen a cap fail from too much static weight? Should I be concerned about the foot/rail cracking through or the whole side buckling? Just curious what to watch for.

I put leftover edge trim from the front wind deflector onto the back piece because it looks too close.
