No exhaust will give you noticeable power and mpgs. So you are really just looking for the right sound to make you happy. I’ve had experience with 1) trd catback.. excellent choice. Factory fitment, perfect tone. Just enough to have fun with. And 2) magnaflow 19291, great choice as well. Nice deep tone, not overbearing. Enough to enjoy the drive.

So thanks for all the feedback. I went ahead and went with Flowmaster American Thunder. I think I got a pretty good deal on it. They gave me $100 off plus a $30 GC for next purchase.

This is false. works for some vehicles, not ours. The lack of back pressure chokes this engine.

Aftermarket exhaust purchase is the #1 newbie waste of time and money when it comes to car mods. For your tacoma, honda civic or BMW M3 this is 100% waste of money when you can purchase other things that will actually produce results (tune?, shocks?, tires?...).

an aftermarket exhaust will add 0-0.1 hp and you will lose low end torque most of the time.
that sound will also get real annoying after the first week, especially on road trips and everyone will think you are a douche.

Most of the people I know who get aftermarket exhausts are low IQ monkeys who have zero mechanical knowledge and would easily become the victim of a pyramid scheme if given the opportunity.

I’m running the Gibson exhaust. Picked it over oem Trd and others. Sounds like a truck now. Not loud, but noticeable. If peeps are local to western mass and want to hear, check it out. Whatever let me know. Nvm see you went dual exit hillbilly

I guess that depends on whether you've got the 8" lift kit, light bar and flatbill hat to go with it.

Ya exhaust to improve the sound of your truck is such a waste over all these guys running $3-4000 suspension and $2000 on wheels and tires and their truck cruises the streets and the mall. Never a speck of dirt on em. Or $2000 in front bumper/winch that never ge used. Add in the lightbar and u got a real winner. My experience with trd and magnaflow on 3rd gen tacomas has been great benefits. For me.

I love my Gibson. Made in California. Stainless and only like $330. It was very quiet until I chopped it by the spare. now it has a great rumble and it has never droned EVER. I noticed a slight power increase too, but i'm running a K and N and OV Tune as well on a manual transmission. good luck!

i was told by a headers manufacturer (DT) you can't run headers on the 3rd gen because they're welded into something in the engine bay. they don't even make 'em. could be wrong...

I looked at Borla, but $700 for an exhaust seemed crazy.
