TRD airbox, TRD Catback exhaust, black TRD wheels, ARB UVP skid plates, Toytec Boss rear leaf pack, Leer canopy, Pop a Lock tailgate lock, rock sliders, all decals and badges removed, OME 60091 rear shocks, OME 887 front coils on OME Nitro Charger shocks with left coil spacer.
I've had my '18 TRD off road double cab for a few months now. Added a Leer fiberglass canopy soon after purchase. Started to notice the rear end bottoms easily. After adding ARB skid plate set, rock sliders and my recovery gear it now rides right on the lower limits of the suspension. Not much travel left in the rear at all.
I looked and look, and don't see much about the weak suspension on these trucks. My problem can't be unique???
Getting a Toytec AAL to see if that takes care of the problem. A few sources have said it will.
Anybody else have this issue? Is it likely the AAL will solve the problem?

Where did you search? Every other thread on this site is about the weak rear leafs, though the third gens seem to be slightly stronger.

You added significant weight over stock, you should upgrade to a heavy duty leaf pack to compensate.

The general consensus is an AAL is a temporary fix.

Get a progressive aal, it's more compliant, and super bumps from wheelers offroad

Install airbag suspension or AAL. I prefer the former, as it is more tuneable.

So i have the same problem on my 18 Tacoma, I also have a topper. What did you end up doing? I would like to upgrade the rear leaf springs but have no idea what to buy, to many choices.

Check out the Roadmaster Active Suspension system. Mines been installed for 6 months and works pretty well.
