Hello all! Im a long time lurker around here, and I finally have a question that merits me making an account haha. Done a lot of research and cant seem to find anything on this. I do not currently have the funds to upgrade the suspension system on my 2019 toyota tacoma, (of course one day this will change and I will be upgrading with either an ICON or EMU suspension system, plan on around 2" of lift or so) Regardless. As you can see in the title. I would like to know if I were to install aftermarket UCA's and/or LCA's would that increase the suspension articulation on my stock suspension? Or if there is some other benefit from doing this? Or would it do essentially nothing? As i have said running a 2019 Toyota Tacoma Off Road. Im so sorry if this is a noobish question, but yea. If installing aftermarket control arms increases my stock suspensions articulation, then what would be the best option to get? Is there any control arms that will increase stock performance of my suspension but will also allow me to upgrade in the future to a 2" lift or so? Thank you guys so much in advance, im sorry if this is a broad question or a lot to answer... y'all are great haha

You would see no benefit with aftermarket arms without aftermarket coilovers as well. With aftermarket arms your stock shocks/coils would be the limiting factor for travel. This is why many people upgrade to aftermarket UCAs at the same time as aftermarket coilovers, because most aftermarket coilovers increase the amount of travel past what the stock UCAs can handle.

there's no way this isn't a freaking troll

You do realize that UCAs go for $500-800 and LCAs go for $1400+????

A better performing suspension setup for all four corners goes for like.....$400 lol

All suspension i can find is like 2000, and then add in the price to have it installed because sincerely I do not want to do that myself, im looking at 3 or 4k total.

ball joint control arms? The only ball joint control arms that I know of are moog? Can you please post links to these not-that-expensive control arms?

and here's a link to a bombproof suspension setup for $340. Pay a shop another $200 to install it and use your stock coilover springs and top hats and boom you're done.

Thank you for your answer, would you know a good suspension that wouldn't break the bank that could give an extra 2" or so of clearance? i cant be spending 2K on suspension or more, at least not right now. Should i just wait and get a more quality one?

Interesting, im truly a noob, but am learning, so the coilovers or the top hats or the mix of both is what will increase my clearance?

EDIT: so i guess its the shocks them selves that increase the clearence, im sorry im still learning haha. What would say are good aftermarket coilovers and tophats with these? Just go Bilstein full out?
