Sounds like a plan man. To be honest I have been considering getting some ads shocks down the road for my rig when the time comes. They have some stuff they are soon to release that looks pretty good. Rear shock wise I wish I went with ads for their bypass tube sizing and flow.

Agreed I like this one better from an aesthetic look alone!

Pair them with some Kensun HID off Amazon and you’ll be set up for $200! I think it’s @FadedComa or @08TRDOFFROAD with this set up. And I have another friend with those hids in his 4runner and he’s happy.

    Yep, I have them.

    20181219_152727.jpg20180819_142709.jpg

Paired them with a DDM tuning bi-xenon hid kit and the light output is 1000 times better than the stock halogen housings.

I can also vouch for k2motors. I purchased mine from them too! My first set I ordered had one of the projectors set in the housing crooked so the cut off was not parallel to the ground when installed. They made the exchange painless and sent out a replacement set immediately.

Do you have a link for the kit?

@08TRDOFFROAD can you aim the headlights?
I’m really interested in this kit lol

Took me about an hour to throw the coilovers back onto the truck.

    989B4C7F-C78F-413A-B2F1-2D55518EBC11.jpg

My CV boot was touching my shock at full droop, so I had to swap the large and small spacers. Icon said it was okay to do this, but I’m not sure how I feel about this clearance:

    F702471A-2119-4A0F-AA20-EF337F7ACF1E.jpg

Now the driver’s side didn’t hit at full droop.

    CFDC912D-DF71-4F36-9085-B60E2B1E31EC.jpg

But the passenger side CV fin did barely touch the LCA shock ears at full droop. I don’t know how they’re uneven. maybe @Arcticelf and his suspension wizardry has a reason? Maybe I'll need limit straps? lol

    Ratchet strap FTW
    B75550B7-4752-4E0D-8DEB-50A5A55E457C.jpg

Lastly, on the passenger side, I had to use a castle nut from my OEM UCAs since my TRE castle nut was messed up.

    Glad to know that fit.
    F9D71194-46A9-4605-AACB-EFA04CCBC667.jpg

All back together. And honestly the ride is so much better than my OME 866 / 90021 setup. So much smoother on bumps.

    measurements:

Before: hub to fender (OME 866 / 90021)
    • Driver: 24”
    • Passenger: 24”
Forgot to write down droop measurements :(

Initial threads showing when bought - 1.3” BOTH

    Current 10/16/2019
Passenger Side Threads Showing - 2”
    Driver’s side threads Showing - 2.25”

    Full Droop Current
    Passenger - 27”
    Driver - 26.5”

Ride height Hub to Fender (not settled)
    Passenger - 25”
    Driver - 25”

the boots move when the steering swings through its arc. Looking at the pics your steering is cocked a touch so that would be the reason they arent even

You’re right! That makes so much sense. I didn’t even notice it haha.

so at full droop and full lock I’ll be rubbing badly I bet

    Two things
    1. The amount of time you spend at full lock and droop at the same time is extremely minimal and at very low speed
    2. Ive had the same coilovers since 2015 and I’ve never had an issue with the boots due to rubbing there

True that. And I have CVJ axles so I don’t know if the outer boots are different lol

Got around to finishing some odds and ends on the truck, and went on a fun drive to enjoy the leaves from the vehicle. (My Fiancé is recovering from surgery, so we couldn’t really hike or walk far)

CVT Annex channel cut and installed

Taped the seals (don’t know if this will help or not) I’m trying to eliminate a funky smell after rain.

Been working on these bad boys for a little. Refinishing these has been really fun so far

    2 sanded, 2 to go

    The before:

    Fully sanded and primed

While paint was drying, decided to organize my tool box which was long overdue

And cleaned the garage up to the point that I found a spare tire for @loosnut lol

overall productive half day off work!

Oh, and these were the remains of the candy I gave out for Halloween

That’s wild I have the same FJ wheels I’m saving for trailer build and they have the same anodize corrosion those do. Must be a thing with them..

it must be. I’ve never seen aluminum wheels this bad. It’s been fun refinishing them though!

    stoked to see your trailer!!
