Looks like 3M Tape on the back.

Any chance of y’all doing one for that big square on the hood of an FJ? I’ve been looking to add one to my FJ. One of the last few things I need to get squared away. B4751077-94E6-4D24-9CA1-43517E742256.jpg

A strip of 3M double sided adhesive goes all the way around the outside of the panels. This allows for removal if necessary.

85w for $600. That better be a magical MPPT controller for that price.

:) Please note that this is sold as a compete kit. It is not just a 85 watt panel and charge controller. Though the MPPT charge controller is "Smart" with high and low voltage cut off's to preserve battery life.

Any concern with drop in efficiency due to how hot the hood of a vehicle gets?

I’m pretty sure, it’s just 3m and you can get an extension cord for the solar connector I think it’s mc4

Naturally there will be a decrease in efficiency from the engine heat. However, when the engine is hot the vehicle will be running and the alternator will be charging the battery. The solar panels really come into play when the engine is not running. :)

Unfortunately not at this time. That silly fake scoop presents some big design challenges and really limits the wattage we could get out of a panel that size. Its on our radar as something we will look into in the future.

I’m mainly concerned about when the vehicle is sitting parked in the sun. The hood of my truck gets extremely hot. I’m sure that’s not good for the efficiency of the panel considering there is no airflow between the panel and the hood to cool it off.

It could be, but its not what we designed this product for. We wanted to utilized the otherwise wasted space on the vehicle hood. Many people have racks, tents etc on the roofs of the trucks.

Gotcha We have had no issues with heat on the hood during testing. Including several weeks of road-tripping through the Moab desert.

    I feel attacked.

Really nice though, but I have the all might skewp.
I would for sure purchase a roof or an over tonneau cover solar panel PnP kit.
More surface area to work on too.
Save my roof from sun death rays, plus make green power, win win.
