Victory will most likely refer you to https://www.kenskarkare.com/

I think there’s a few of us here on the forum in SW Michigan. I’m in Kalamazoo. Have a meet and greet where everyone lends a hand installing your lift. :sawzall:

Hello everyone, I'm new to the Taco club located just west of Kalamazoo. I have a 2016 TRD Offroad that I've already put to good use hunting up north and out west.

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone in Michigan had a hard top/cap that would fit on an extended cab 2001 Tacoma they were selling? If not, anyone know an inexpensive way of buying one?

Ford Rangers and Chevy S-15 trucks have the same bed dimensions. If you are looking for a contractor style cap, this will help in your hunt. As you have noticed, our state doesn't have a big Tacoma population

    S-15 or S-10?

good grief i hated driving the early 90s S-10 for work truck
when they upgraded to the Astro van it was slightly better but not by much!

oh i just googled that, since i suffer CRS at times

It was the first domestically built compact pickup of the big three American automakers. When it was first introduced as a "quarter-ton pickup" in 1981 for the 1982 model year, the GMC version was known as the S-15 and later renamed the GMC Sonoma.

The s-15 trucks I know for sure since I was able to measure the bed. The s-10 may fit, but most of them were gone when I was hunting for a cap, so I never measured one.

Then Sanoma it is. I guess I just assumed the GM second gens were s-15 trucks.

Any dealers with good discounts in lower Michigan? The Jeep gladiator forum has discounts for forum members at certain dealerships

    Lol.

I get coupons a couple times a year. Never do they work out as a discount. Those coupons are just a gimmick to get you into the dealership.

There is no routine maintenance that can not be performed by an independent shop for similar or less money.

I'm not knocking dealerships. It's just that the time your truck is getting serviced is time a salesman can put the hard sell on you for a new truck.

The coupons are worthless. The service is fine, but the coupons won't gain you much savings.

Routine Toyota maintenance will not void your warrenty if you have the work done elsewere.

Toyota trucks get such high resell value, i.e. - retain their value so well, I doubt you'll see discounts like you see for the big 3. And most of those discounts you see for the Big 3 are for employees and eligible family members. You dont know that yet until you go into the dealer and start the negotiating.

My suggestion is hop onto Cars.com and type in exactly what you're looking for. Spread the distance out to 500mile range. I would take a used Toyota over a brand new Jeep anyday.

You’ll typically see invoice at best unless there is remaining inventory from the last model year, those may go a bit deeper

Stumbled upon this thread and thought I'd share. My truck and I reside in CA now, but I just took my annual xmas/new years trip to the cabin in the UP. Nothing I miss more than springs, summers, falls, and winters up north on the lake and in the woods. Manged to pull a few through the ice and all the snow made for some good snowmobiling.

i love the hard sell of that, have encountered it on occasion lol
i say shit i know what i got around here in NE and you ain't stealing my authentic old mid west taco from under me
authentic meaning NOT a southern transplant

when getting my alignment courtesy checked they told me if i get a new Tacoma i can get a plate that says '20 Taco' instead of '97 Taco'
i never pass up a $25 oil filter lube dealer coupin, and the dealers are the only place i have had my oil changed in 23 years now, and a total of 25 yrs with my first Toyota pickup
but their $49 coupins lately, some include tire rotation which is included at DT already for me, is really pushing the limit on a 'deal' and i will not pay that price

Good luck with that unless you are willing to travel. I am also in the GR area and have tried to deal with the local Toyota dealerships. Toyota of GR had a deposit of mine well after I made the choice to travel, and I actually picked it up driving the Tacoma.

I have bought two new vehicle in the last 5-6 years, and while both were slightly on the unique side but still very average consumer vehicles, GR area dealerships failed me. Coincidentally, both new vehicles were bought in central Ohio.
