    Hi all.

I’m looking for help finding a part.

At the bottom on the shifter (the black rod section) there is a rubber sleeve that has worn out. I’m trying to find a part number but can’t find a detailed diagram.

Can anyone help me out? I’m thinking a more detailed diagram of the floor shift lever assembly might be helpful.

    05 4.0L manual trans.

    Thanks.

Im having the same problem, It's the plastic bushing that disintegrated at the end of the black shaft... I was quoted that the whole shifter would need replacement. Im thinking of going with a hurst for a pretty penny thouogh

Read my earlier post for the part you need.

Oh hold on, are you saying you broke the shifter itself? Yeah you can’t replace that. You need the whole shift lever for sure.

    None... yet
Theres another thread on here where someone mentioned they had epoxied the two back together. That bushing between the two shift levers molded in there around the shaft of the bottom half. Just fill the top half with an epoxy and stick it over the bottom half. You should have the shifter out of the truck when you do that so you can have it upside down. Otherwise epoxy will get all over the place. Not sure what type of epoxy to use.

In researching this I saw that @badger posted saying he had made a new rubber bushing.

Maybe he’ll chime in with some wisdom?

    Yep.
Ah, your stick bushing gave out.

My old assembly is collecting dust if you're interested... where are you located?

Might still have the urd SS still with it too, will have to check the parts bins.
