We should try to get a group ride together after the first of the year. Just because it's so close, I still think it would be fun to plan a Talladega Forest trip (2 hr ride from Columbus). Could make it a 1 day or 2 day trip.

I've got a route that hits the main 2 offroad trails on the south end of the forest, connects up to Cheaha Mt. Park, then doubles back on a separate set of trails to make a full loop. Multiple camp sites along the route, including one large camp site that could easily fit ~10 or so vehicles. There's also a lake on the route that's good for fishing. If anyone wanted to 1 day it, they could just hit 600-1 & 600-2 then take off back home. The entire loop is about 75 miles, most of it being on dirt/gravel/offroad. 2WD is fine for pretty much everything as long as it hasn't been raining.

I feel like between Columbus / Benning / Auburn there's enough of us around here to get a group together.

    Any thoughts?

Obviously not in the Columbus area but post up when you hit Talladega. It’s not far from me and have been wanting to do this for some time. It’d be nice going with someone who has been before. I’ve heard mixed reviews on the trails there.

Absolutely, man! I figured most of the north of ATL crew wouldn't want to drive that far for a mild trail run but the more the merrier! I'm all about having an adventure regardless of the terrain.
Great, just trying to see if there's enough interest to try to put something together. If so, maybe Feb / March for a trip. Give the hunters time to get out of the woods.

I've got 2-3 local guys who aren't super active on the forum that would likely be down pending schedules as well. So I think we could throw together at least a ~5 person group, but will just leave this out there for a feeler to see if we could drum up more interest.
