I’m about to purchase a lightly used OEM tonneau for 2016 tacoma. Just wondering what a good price is to negotiate around? 200-400$ I was thinking

Make sure to include the rail caps as well, look at it carefully and see what I mean. People usually just swap them out for free with the seller.

So what parts are there for the OEMs? Just rail caps?

You have to replace the two side rails and the corner rubber pieces. There’s also a support brace that mounts in those two holes right below your rear window in front of the bed.

Is the seller including those? If you’re nearby, just swap them out with him. It usually works out really well that way.

I forget the exact part number, but I had to end up buying two new side rail caps and they were over $100 each. It was because I stupidly shipped them off to New York from California, and the buyer did not want to send back the swapped rails. Big mistake don’t do this!

Also, be sure to check the cover carefully before you buy it, there are some support posts built into it to hold the first and second leaves level when it is opened up that break off rather easily if there is a lot of pressure on top of the cover when it is opened up (Like from an idiot sitting or standing on it). I’ve seen several of those support posts broken, even on used Tacomas at the dealer.

Got my thank you. Yes he’s near by so that works out well. I’ll be sure to install it with him there.
