    Hey all,

Excited to join the group with my first pickup. I've got a 2020 TRD sport incoming. I added the XP predator package to get the TRD wheels and black badging primary (honestly for looks as it is my daily, on-road driver). I am looking at doing a few upgrades once I've got the truck home and would love some suggestions. I'm mostly interested in:

    -LED headlights
    -A small (2"?) lift
-Swapping out the color matched fender flares and bumpers for matte black like those on the TRD Pro/Off Road
    -Tonneau cover

There's a ton of great info here, and I know I'll need to wade through it, but as a non-DIY'er, I'm wondering if folks have some good recommendations as to where to start?

    Thanks!

For the fender flares, look at line-x. I paid $250. The black unpainted ones from Toyota are over $150 each.

Why not order the factory led headlights?

Would you do the OEM? Weathertech? Another?

It wasn't an option to add led? I though it was like a 500$ option

Yeah, I thought it was weird - I'll ask again. I guess the question is - are the OEM LED headlights and fogs the way to go or is this an easy enough upgrade I could do myself with a better set? Mind you I have limited experience working on my own vehicles - hoping to change that with this one!

Just get the OEM, they say Tacoma on them and they are pretty indestructible. I’ve had mine for over 3 years.

Sounds like you should cancel that order and get a model with what you want from the factory, then only worry about what lift you want. A TRD Off-road can easily be ordered with black fenders, LED headlights and blacked out emblems as those are all factory options.

I'll admit, what I wanted was a Pro but the 2020 was out of out budget and I wanted the hood scoop for aesthetics so it was down to the Sport. I wanted 2020 over 2019 for some of the safety additions and creature comforts (its still my kid hauler primarily) and didn't need the off-road capabilities as it will primarily be used on the road.

...so the upgrades changes I am looking for are primarily aesthetic. I got a good deal on the Sport and the dealer is making some of the changes at a pretty reduced cost so...this is what I got!

Don’t do it! I would wait and and get exactly what you want. Adding the LED headlights is going to run you almost $1500 plus you will have to tear off the front of your truck to install.

I appreciate the recommendation, but the Pro was just too far outside of our price range. I don't mind upgrading slowly over time. Not in a rush, but the lights are on the list. I found this thread and would consider a retrofit or BLHM set (https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/retrofit-and-bhlm-headlights.565466/) which seem like a less pricey (potentially) way to go.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy an aftermarket non functional scoop than functional headlights?

What I am saying is to wait for a Sport with the LED headlight option. A lot of members buy the Sport with the hood scoop and swap out the fender flares for black ones and changeout the shocks and wheels/tires.

The factory LEDs and are way better upgrade than a non usable hood scoop. I love the LEDs on my TRD off-road
