    When a seller is referring to a metal shackle as being 3/4 inch, are they referring to the diameter of the hole the pin goes through (alternatively - pin diameter)or to the width of the mounting bracket point (alternatively - the space between the two ends of the shackle)?

    Yea, buy good ones stamped w/ safe ratings. Crosby can be trusted.

    Yrs. ago I saw a mishap when one Co. bought cheapo Chinese ones, no one hurt but it broke. Seen those harbor fright come alongs and chain falls break the load chain too.
