    Hey TW,

This is a thread about my truck and all the mods, add-ons, changes, tweaks, etc that I'll be making. This is more of a log for myself and a few friends than it is a PSA thread.

First, I will insert my previous truck. My 2016 TRD Off-road Access Cab. Drive it off the lot with 10 miles on it. Over the course of 3 years I put 97,000 miles on it and loved every minute in this truck. Frustration only grew from having no back seats.

Thanks for all the travels buddy! You will be missed.

    On to the new truck!
    2019 TRD Off-road DCSB. It's a beautiful truck and I'm loving it.

Bone stock. Tech and premium package. Managed to handshake deal my KO2s on to the new truck. 20191201_084131.jpg

    Much better.

Update as of December 1st, 2019:
OEM bed step from previous truck added.
    Tailgate letter inserts added.

RekGen Mud flaps added. These are significantly better than the OEM rigid plastic mudguards I had on my 2016. The RekGens aren't super flexible rubber, but they will flex quite a bit. I wasn't keen on the mounting method. They screw into the fender flares and there is a 2.5 inch screw that is in limbo in the wheel well. I think if you flexed the flap too much, the 2.5 inch screw would probably tear out. The OEM mudguards were contoured to this curve and sat flush.
OEM Black Chrome exhaust tip added. Worth every penny. Cleans easier too. I also negotiated with my dealership parts guy and he sold it to me for $65 out the door. Super cool dude.

Thanks for looking! Stay tuned for more if you'd like!

    Update for December 10th, 2019:

Some quality of life updates done to the truck. These aren't by any means necessary, but I find they improve functionality and enjoyment of the truck.

Rubber cup holder inserts added. Keeps everything from rattling around and small items from vibrating.
    DSC_0030.jpg

MESO Customs map and dome lights added in white color tone. This is a HUGE improvement over the stock. I also prefer these to a bulb swap because these don't get hot with use.

MESO Customs Gasshole added. I dealt with the dangling gas cap on my prior Tacoma. It always bugged me but I never bought this to solve the issue. Using the clip to hold the retention string is a load of crap IMO. After installing this and using it a couple times, I do not understand why this wasn't stock from Toyota. It's $5(probably less) worth of plastic. Come on Toyota, I paid $35k for this truck.

Awesome! They are a nice subtle touch. It also makes cleaning out your cup holders WAY easier.

    Update for December 14th, 2019:

A couple more quality of life updates. I guess all modifications could be considered quality of life. But these are kinda nitpicking and what I like to consider "life-proofing".

So when I owned my previous truck, it was caught in a pretty nasty hail storm. When I took it in for PDR, the collision center "cleaned my interior". I think they gave someone a dirty terry cloth and told him to wipe everything down. The collision center absolutely trashed the stereo head unit, the shift selector, and the instrument cluster. It was swirled so bad you couldn't read it in direct sun. I was fuming. Politely requested that they repair the damage they did and they told me I was SOL. I fought them on it but they couldn't give a rats ass.

So my mod today was a HU screen protector and I added aftermarket knobs for the hell of it. The stock HU knobs are pretty small and cheap glossy plastic. The replacement knobs are machined aluminum and much more robust. I love them!

    DSC_0043.jpg

Also added some personal touches as an added bonus. The molle panel has pockets on both sides and is full Velcro. I am able to carry everything shown without intrusion into my driving view.

    Update for January 4th, 2020:

ME-SO Customs interior chrome delete kit! I am allergic to chrome, so this kit is a great addition to the build. Install was super easy! I bought the MGM color of the kit and it gives it a very OEM look.

I also added a ME-SO Customs bucket for that weird "catch-all" spot.

I'm really slacking on updates for this build thread!

    Update for June 2nd, 2020:

    Added:
    ME-SO Vent Ring Chrome Delete(MGM)

ME-SO Red TRD push button(Small text)

ME-SO Extended fuse cover for Add-A-Fuse coverage.

    Roam Adventure Co. RTT(Vagabond)

    RCI Mid-height Tacoma Bed Rack

    Total Chaos Fabrication Bed Stiffeners

Blacked out my chrome grille bezel

Received my OME EL096R HD DAKARs

Most of this has been staggered throughout the past 5 months. With this whole COVID crap going on, I've been working extra. I'll try to be more accurate with updates and time-frames.

I love it! I paid $1500 for it and it had all the features of a ruggedized name brand tent plus more. The equivalent tent from a "name" brand was $3k+. I looked for several months at tents and this one is hands down the best quality/feature to value ratio. I saw the Smittybilt in person and it's pretty shoddy in quality. At least IMO.

The only frustrating thing is that spare parts are hit or miss. I requested extra fasteners to keep on hand and the manufacturer said they only SELL assemblies. Thankfully all the hardware is metric and pretty easy to find at a big box hardware store.
