Today I wired my dashboard camera to the power supply behind the mirror. I got information from Tacoma world on a separate listing. The beige wire is positive and the white w/ black wire is negative. I also ordered a step down for the power supply from 12 v ( by mirror ) to 5 v to the camera.

Everything went perfect and the camera automatically comes on recording when the Tacoma is started. I cleaned all the tools to be put away and played with my perfect installation.

I grabbed my key fob to lock the doors and NOTHING, what the............. The Key fob will not lock the doors. It’s dead. I tried the interior lock / unlock it works from inside but nothing from key fob. Fuse? Help

Mine does the same thing when I installed my dash cam and wired it to the truck with a ad a fuse. I have to be standing directly next to the truck just for it to unlock, that's after hitting the unlock button many times. When I turn the camera off, it locks/unlocks perfectly. I have been wondering if anyone else had this problem but you beat me to posting.

Just tried key remote lock / unlock and nothing. I unplugged power supply from camera with same non working key remote. The interior lock / unlock works fine though. Tried both remotes also.

Swap the battery on the key fob? I wired my dash cam to the wiper fuse, everything works as it should.

Ok tried both checking old fuse ( good ) and replacing with new, no luck and swapping key battery, no luck. Any other ideas?

What a pain with no remote lock / unlock.

Is fob programming something I can do or is it a dealer thing?

I've had bad Add-A-Fuses. Did you try removing that and reinstalling the original fuse?

I had a similar problem with my dash cam. When my rear dash cam is powered in parking mode, the keyfob would work intermittently or not at all. When i unplug the rear cam, keyfob works as it should. Having the front dash cam plugged in by itself, i didnt run into any issues. Could be electromagnetic interference. Try removing power to the dash cam first before taking it to the dealer because if they find that is your problem, they will charge you for the troubleshooting.

With it hardwired are you tapped into a constant 12v? that could be slightly draining the battery. The hardwire kit i got has a voltage shut off. Here is the camera and hardwire kit i used. with my install i tapped on the wiper motor 30amp with my add-a-fuse and just have a 5amp for the camera in it.

Did you try disconnecting power from the tap, not just unplugging at the dash cam.

Unplugging the dash cam at the rear plug didnt fix the issue, removing the power that fed it at the front camera fixed it.
