I noticed this sticker on my 2 front windows. There was no mention of a 'non factory' alarm during the sales process, nothing on the window sticker, and no literature provided with the manuals.
I checked under the dash on the drivers side, everything looks stock, no spliced wires that I could see.
    Anyone have any thoughts?

Do you have a security light on the lower left panel by the steering wheel?

The alarm is noted for being a piece of shit unless the add on module is installed

Nope. Nothing that is not factory on the dash, and their doesn't appear to be anything spliced in under the dash.
Just wondering if anyone else has these stickers on their 2020.

Should have this light flashing on the dash by the HVAC controls when the vehicle is off and locked

I got those stickers on my 2016 and it does have a factory alarm. Only triggers if a door or hood is opened. You need to purchase the shock/motion/glass sensor module for better functionality.

Yes, I do see the factory alarm indicator. The alarm acts just like the one in my 2017 SR5. I saw the stickers and was worried the dealership may have buggered around with the wiring under my dash.
So your 2016 just had the factory alarm. No dealer installed alarm. Correct?
It appears mine is factory. I looked under the dash and it doesn't look like anyone has messed around with things.
It's just weird I have the stickers on my new Taco, but my 2017 SR5 didn't have them.
    Thanks everyone for the replies.

My '19 has that sticker. Figured it was just the factory alarm? Don't know anything past that.

I believe the sport/OR and higher trims had factory alarm standard that you can add on the sensor. The SR-5 and SR didnt come with it.

I went by the dealership today. The lead mechanic went for a test drive with me to check a couple of things.
Regarding the 'Toyota Auto Alarm' sticker, he assured me that my 2020 has just the factory alarm. We verified that other 2020s on the lot also had the sticker.
I'm not sure why a sticker wasn't on my 2017, and is on my 2020, or why it is not on all the 2019/2020 Tacos on the lot at the dealership.
Just a weird thing. But I verified that it doesn't indicate that the port or dealer hacked in some aftermarket crap :)
    Thanks for the replies everyone.

Factory alarm is only standard on Sport/OR/Pro and Limited. Not on the SR or SR5, thats why your 2017 didn't have the sticker and not on every Tacoma.

The add on was referred to as VIP and included a glass break sensor…

This is correct, although only available in certain regions. It seems common in the PNW.

The glass breakage sensor takes place of one of the button blanks, and looks like this:

You have to wait at least 60seconds after the last door is locked before it is activated.

It’s part of a “kit”. It includes this sensor, a harness, a module, and requires a change in TechStream. I have one I haven’t installed yet… I can dig up that part number if someone else doesn’t reference.
