Best bang for your buck OBD scanner and etc. to have

Anybody know what to look for in an OBD scanner and other accessories that will come in handy for it? Kinda confusing on what to look for in a OBD scanner for my 17 taco any help is much appreciated.

 

I bought the BlueDriver from Amazon it’s $100 and it works great since the obd2 you plug in connects to your phone. Definitely worth the money. You could look up Scotty Kilmer on YouTube he talks about different obd readers with varying prices and just car stuff in general.

 

I own an older SnapOn scanner, a few Innova’s and i’ve tried a Foxwell hand held and 10+ free phone apps. Earlier this year I bought a new ‘Launch CRP129E’ from Amazon ($240US) and have been really happy with it.
There are no other accessories available for it (as far as I know) but before you buy a scanner you should, at least, already own a decent digital multimeter and a test light.
The Launch does all the usual engine stuff, has live data, resets reminders, does ABS, SRS, TPMS, transmissions and can be updated. I’m not in the trade anymore so I didn’t want to spend a lot, but so far this one does everything I need it to.

 

I use ScanTool OBDLink LX. It connects to the phone via bluetooth, and it's $50 on Amazon. I use that with the Torque Pro app.

Not to mention that it is smaller than my old ELM327 clone, which is important given the OBD port location on the Taco.
